2016 is the new 2026?

2016 was a pivotal year for me. After spending 4 months in Asia in 2015, I returned in January 2016 and spent the entire year here, mainly in Cambodia, where I'd fallen in love with an island named Koh Rong 🏝️

In the decade since, Koh Rong (and Cambodia generally) has undergone a TONNE of development, but when I lived there, it was almost like The Beach by Alex Garland (also a film w Leonardo DiCaprio).

We had no flushing toilets, no hot water, no A/C, no fire services (but multiple big fires while I was there), no doctor's surgery (only a pharmacy selling ketamine and strips of Valium for $1), no cars, roads, or scooters, and a handful of (very corrupt) policemen who loved strutting around with their AK-47s and collecting bribes from foreigners.

As dystopian as this may sound, 2016 was the best year of my life, and I honestly believe everyone should spend 12 months living on an undeveloped island at some point in their lives!

This was the year that truly kicked off my travels, my travel writing, and my life of freedom, and even now, a decade later, I've still never caved into the pressure of getting a 9-5 or corporate job, valuing my freedom more than any financial security that this type of life could provide for me.

I owe a lot to Cambodia πŸ‡°πŸ‡
✨ Things that made me happy last week ✨

With the exception of another 3 (!) hospital trips (not fun), I had a pretty nice week last week!

Finally checked out for my Pakistani food series, and it definitely lived up to the hype!

Also started Nobody's Girl by Virginia Roberts Giuffre and it's captivating. I would recommend this book to everybody interested in Epstein and Maxwell and their crimes.

Still obsessed with too πŸ•΅πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
Solo travellers have been paying more for YEARS. is here to change that ✈️

PT. 4 SEARCHING FOR THE BEST PAKISTANI FOOD IN MANCHESTER πŸ‡΅πŸ‡°

This is, and it's definitely more banquet than buffet.

Serving over 140 dishes, you can expect Pakistani classics like karahi, nihari, paya, haleem, pani puri, handi, and so much more.

But is it the best Pakistani food in Manchester? You'll have to watch till the end πŸ˜‰

✨ THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY LAST WEEK ✨

Bit of a shorter one this time because last week kinda sucked lol.

Had a 12 hour travel day on Monday which was HORRIBLE - I've shared a bit about this health issue on my stories but basically imagine having a miscarriage that lasts for a month (I haven't had a miscarriage, but this is the only way I can describe the symptoms) & leaves you so anemic that you can barely stand without almost fainting lol. Now imagine a v long travel day with heavy luggage & various transfers & limited access to bathrooms. Not fun at all, definitely cried in the airport.

I then had to spend 4 of the remaining 6 days of the week in doctor's surgeries & hospitals (also not the most fun way to spend a week).

With that being said, it wasn't all bad. I did a lot of Murdle puzzles, dived DEEP into the rabbit hole that is The Epstein Files (if you know me, you know I love a true crime hyperfixation), made it to the pub for a great NYE, and spent a lot of time on the couch πŸ˜…

I'm not sharing any of this for attention or sympathy: as someone who has literally made a living out of putting my life on the internet, it feels disingenuous not to include the less glamorous things that happen in life. I never want my feed to make someone feel bad that they're not constantly travelling or eating out or getting things "gifted" to them, because trust me, life is not perfect and there's nothing wrong with that!

All in all, last week wasn't a bad week. It wasn't all sunshine & rainbows, but it certainly could have been a lot worse 🩷
VERY honest recap of 2025 (spoiler: being a content creator isn't the most reliable way to make a living, who'd have guessed)
What a year!

I might not have travelled as much as I used to (tbf I used to be fully nomadic so that would be tricky!), but I've had some INCREDIBLE experiences this year!

I've been to 5 new countries, returned to some old favourites, worked with industry giants like, explored a new city whilst catsitting (lovee ), sold my first ever group tour to Pakistan, and so so much more.

When I'm at home, I've been attending PR events in Manchester (ty to all the lovely agencies that I've worked with this year!!), reviewing local bars and restaurants, "researching" every bottomless brunch spot I can find, and building my brand and online presence.

I have lots of travel plans in the works for next year (DM me if you want to come to Pakistan w me!!), including a couple of bucket list destinations that I'm VERY excited about πŸ‘€ and am v v grateful for the experiences I've had this year, and all that is to come in 2026 πŸ₯Ίβœ¨πŸ©·

2025, you've been good to me 🩷🩷🩷
πŸ‡΅πŸ‡° PAKISTAN GROUP TRIP πŸ‡΅πŸ‡°

As some of you may know, my group trip to Pakistan this month wasn't able to go ahead as I didn't get enough sign-ups πŸ˜”

HOWEVER, it'll take more than that to keep me away from this incredible country, so I've been working behind the scenes to put together an incredible trip for 2026 😍

This trip will run from 23 May - 7 June, and is an updated version of the trip to the mountains that I hosted in summer.

SO many of you have asked me when I'll be hosting a trip to the mountains again, so here it is 😁

The new and improved itinerary is now 15 nights (up from 12) and includes an overnight stay in a rural village, a visit to Peshawar, and all kinds of crazy cultural experiences (mud wrestling, weapons factories, parties in the desert - the works).

If you'd like more information, please comment TOUR below, or drop me a DM and I'll send you all the details πŸ«ΆπŸΌπŸ–€

Please note that I am unable to bring people currently residing in Pakistan, this is a trip for internationals only (Pakistani diaspora more than welcome).
