Innanzitutto, perché Lan Ha e non Ha Long?
La Baia di Lan Ha è proprio accanto alla più conosciuta baia di Ha Long; essendo meno famosa, è anche meno invasa dai turisti, pur essendo ugualmente spettacolare.
Siamo rimasti a Lan Ha per due giorni: dopo aver raggiunto l’isola di Cat Ba, siamo partiti con una piccola barca e abbiamo attraversato i villaggi galleggianti dei pescatori. Abbiamo pranzato, completamente soli, in una baia incredibilmente azzurra, poi siamo saliti sul kayak e per tutto il pomeriggio abbiamo dolcemente pagaiato tra le isole, soltanto noi e la nostra guida. Per il tramonto siamo saliti sulla giunca dove avremmo trascorso la notte: il sole dorato ha inondato tutta la baia, e noi con essa.
Ci siamo risvegliati con l’alba e un caffè vietnamita, per poi scendere a terra, inforcare una bicicletta e pedalare fino al villaggio di Viet Hai. Da qui, siamo saliti a piedi su un viewpoint nella foresta: avevamo il Golfo del Tonchino ai nostri piedi e, anche se c’era foschia, era ugualmente bello. Ridiscesi, abbiamo pranzato in un ristorante locale, navigato indietro fino a Cat Ba, e infine siamo rientrati ad Hanoi.

Per godere al meglio di questi luoghi straordinari, il nostro consiglio è di scegliere un’imbarcazione piccola, con poche cabine ed un’esperienza meno “crocieristica”; optate per una compagnia che vi permetta di fare tante attività a terra/in mare, con poco tempo a bordo.

Luoghi belli e famosi come la baia di Ha Long e Lan Ha stanno diventando sempre più vittime di over tourism con il rischio di essere depredate della loro bellezza, diventando sempre meno incontaminati e sempre più abbrutiti. La soluzione? Forse è imparare a viaggiare senza lasciare nulla dietro di sé, neppure le proprie orme.
