Our first Entre Las Palmas tertulia, with conservator and writer Rosa Lowinger, on Memory, Materials & Magic: what we can learn from the Tropicana and the work of the Cuban modernists.
The Tropicana is one of our favorite buildings in the world. We have never been. It lives in our imagination, in photographs, in stories, in the way our parents and grandparents spoke about it. Rosa’s book Tropicana Nights is a fascinating read and the closest most of us will ever come to walking through those arches at midnight in 1953. If you have not picked it up, please do.
We’ve hosted tertulias before, but this was the first under our own Entre Las Palmas umbrella, and the right guest to open it with.
The conversation was about materials that last. About our island. About what we can take with us and what we bring back to share. About why keeping that cultural knowledge alive, and passing it along, is so important. The room held Cubans and non-Cubans, many generations together, talking about music, materials, and culture as one continuous inheritance.
About conservation, yes. But not nostalgia. Cuban architecture, arts, and letters were a marvel, and they continue in all of us. We look forward, and we honor the past, and we remember.

Thank you to Rosa for the depth, and to everyone who came and brought their so much into the conversation.

is entering a bold new era with, a pedestrian-first lifestyle district designed to blend retail, culture, wellness, and community into one immersive destination.

NoLi will span more than 150,000 square feet across Lincoln Road, Meridian Avenue, and North Lincoln Lane, transforming underutilized buildings and alleyways into a curated micro-district filled with boutique shops, cafés, shaded plazas, and experiential spaces.

At the center is Via NoLi, a reimagined “street off the street” concept that brings a quieter, greener, and more intimate energy to one of Miami Beach’s busiest corridors while encouraging walkability and outdoor gathering.

Developed by and designed by Miami-based alongside, the project arrives amid a wave of major investment reshaping Miami Beach, including the renovation, new luxury hotel developments, and the revitalization of Pride Park.

With leasing already underway and completion anticipated in late 2027, NoLi is poised to become one of the city’s most dynamic new retail and lifestyle hubs.
There’s something inspiring about capturing creative people in their element. Last week, I had the chance to photograph a team of talented architects in their studio, and it was such a special experience🙌🏻

Since starting our studio, we have always loved designing spaces for outdoor living. Part of the beauty of living in Florida lies in enjoying the outdoors, whether lounging by the water or in a lush garden. Designing these spaces with attention to the position of the sun, creating shade, and capturing breezes is proof that you can be comfortable outdoors, while still enjoying stunning views.

Here are some of our favorite cabana designs throughout the years.

- 88 La Gorce: Part cabana and part guest house, this is one our first houses and its design was heavily inspired by tropical modernism. Winner of AIA Florida's Design Award (2011), this project recently was resold at record setting price for Miami Beach - featured in Wall Street Journal and Robb Report

- Tropical Kampong House: What began as a redesign of an existing cabana and pool, transformed into a series of tropical pavilions that meld into the lush landscape. We envisioned a floating terrace with lounge space, dark backsplash concealing electronics, and a poolside cabana embracing materials suited to the climate.

Our clients on North Bay Road wanted to create a Tropical Kampong as an extension to their primary residence with distinct spaces that offer amenities such as an entertainment pavilion, spa, and gym, all set within a lush tropical garden.

As we finish up construction, the vision is coming into focus. A blend of modern luxury and tropical living that allows them to enjoy their own private haven.

A sneak peek of our luxury penthouse that draws from our client's love of Japanese design aesthetic and history. A sunken conversation pit anchors the living space, while custom built-ins and layered screen dividers frame expansive water views. Wellness areas include amenities such as a VR Isolation Room and a dojo that features the client’s Japanese armor collection.

Homes should reflect the passions of the owner while elevating everyday living through thoughtful planning, craftsmanship, and proportion, creating spaces that are not only deeply personal, but enduring in their beauty and value.

This latest project on North Bay Road is almost done. The project consisted of a series of smaller structures built into a landscape - the common thread between them was in the materiality of travertine, beautiful green tiled pools and deep, shady overhangs in wood. As always, the focus is connecting people with nature and the beauty of #floridaliving. It’s been a joy and pleasure to work with team who cares as much as we do about getting the details just so.

Thank you to the incredible team especially and These are our progress photos - can’t wait to shoot 2026!

When Apple selected Touzet Studio to be part of the design team for the Lincoln Road flagship, we collaborated closely with their team to create a space that reflects the site’s history, a truly Miami Beach palette - while embracing Apple’s commitment to design and innovation.

Through research—including visits to the Bass Museum—we discovered that the original 1920s Pancoast-designed building was once a car showroom with large steel-framed glass windows. We didn’t know what material the original building had been but we loved the monumentality of the keystone in the Bass Museum. This shaped our approach:

🔹 Reinterpreting the Past – Restoring the original steel-framed glass openings to bring back the showroom’s light-filled design.
🔹 Materiality & Context – A lighter palette of Florida Keystone and terrazzo connects the space to Pancoast’s work and to Miami Beach’s architectural legacy.
🔹 Blending Nature & Design – A green wall marks the original boundary, integrating history with a modern aesthetic.

This project was a true collaboration, merging global innovation with local identity to create a contemporary landmark on Lincoln Road.

We loved collaborating with Nike on this Lincoln Road project and exploring fiber-reinforced concrete. Originally, the facade was intended to be dark metal, but we convinced the team that a lighter material would be more appropriate for our climate. This Ductal® fiber-reinforced mix allowed us to perforate the panels and create a stunning brise soleil, which glows like a lantern at night. We also loved working with cast-in-place concrete, which complemented the scale and texture of the adjacent historic terracotta facade.
