Simple enough, right? But these solitaire rings, EVERY detail matters.
Solitaire designs leave nothing to hide behind. The proportions, the setting height, the thickness of the band, the way the diamond sitsโฆall of it has to be intentional.
When the design is this clean, the diamond does all the talking.
This 2.74ct D VVS2 marquise diamond with an 8x cut (the highest possible diamond cut grade) was a clear choice. Itโs a truly top tier stone, and you can see it immediately in the way it catches the light from every angle.
From there, we went with a simple 2mm plain yellow gold band. With a diamond this size, band thickness isnโt just a visual choice, itโs about security and balance. We didnโt want to stray too far from the reference photo, which featured a slightly thinner band, but it was important to give the diamond the support it needs while keeping the overall look timeless and clean.
He shared that she loves yellow gold, so we leaned into that. The yellow gold frames the diamond beautifully and adds a softness that pairs perfectly with the sharp lines of the marquise cut.
From reference photo to final piece, this ring is a reminder that simple doesnโt mean easy, it means precise. And when itโs done right, this is the beautiful outcome you get.
