Arneo è un racconto corale che restituisce l’identità mutevole di un territorio sospeso tra memoria e trasformazione: un luogo un tempo segnato da lotte contadine e dal lavoro della terra, che oggi nasconde quei residui storici tra strutture moderne e aliene, trasfigurato dallo sfruttamento turistico e da un’economia che ne riscrive i paesaggi e i significati.
Ho avuto il piacere di contribuire a questo viaggio visivo insieme a undici autori straordinari: Guido Guidi, Michele Buda, Cosimo Calabrese, Corrado Catania, Michele Cera, Giammario Corsi, Costantino Forte, Carmelo Roberto, Stefania Rössl, Massimo Sordi e Samuele Vincenti.
Il design del libro è frutto del lavoro attento e poetico di Damiano Fraccaro /, che ha saputo dare forma visiva all’anima del progetto.

Ne è uscito un mosaico molto variegato e interessante di visioni, un racconto sorprendente e senza dubbio poco scontato della città, che vi invito a scoprire nella splendida cornice di San Francesco della Scarpa, a Lecce.
La mostra sarà aperta tutti i giorni dalle 17:00 alle 20:00 (con possibili aperture anche al mattino) fino al 15 giugno.

Fondata nel 2012, è un'organizzazione artistica con sede a Bowen Island nell'area metropolitana di Vancouver, BC, dedicata a supportare fotografi emergenti e di mezza carriera a livello internazionale attraverso programmi di mostre, pubblicazioni stampate, nonché seminari, conferenze pubbliche, workshop dal vivo, e lezioni online.
[ENG] Topografia meridiana was selected by Milo Montelli, founder of visual arts books publisher and editor of the winter issue JRNL 15 of, to be printed together with the work of eleven other authors.
JRNL 15 is currently out of print at the publisher.
Founded in 2012, is an arts organization based on Bowen Island in metro Vancouver, BC, dedicated to supporting emerging and mid-career photographic artists internationally through exhibitions programs, printed publications, as well as seminars, public talks, in-person workshops, and online classes.

ENG: Almost a year ago some of my photographs, taken from Topografia meridiana, were included in the first of the two volumes that the great Vanni Pandolfi has produced to recount some contemporary developments in landscape photography.
It made me particularly happy to be part of it, both because I am in the company of excellent authors whom I respect, and because I really appreciate the work that Vanni Pandolfi, together with Yasmin Javidnia, have been tirelessly carrying out for years with their Bestselected project.

Sono molto contento di aver contribuito a questa pubblicazione con la foto di copertina, tratta da un lavoro fotografico sugli incendi nel Salento che ho intrapreso nel 2008 e portato avanti per diversi anni.
Oltre alla foto di copertina, aggiungo un piccolissimo estratto dal corpo del lavoro che si intitola Pyrographic landscape, ad intendere sia il volto del paesaggio ridisegnato dal fuoco, ma anche la tecnica utilizzata per lo sviluppo analogico dei negativi, con l’utilizzo di un rivelatore leggendario nella storia della fotografia: l’acido pirogallico (piccola postilla per i nerd della camera oscura che ancora resistono).
L’introduzione del libro è scritta da Stefano Cristante e l’editing curato da Margherita Macrì.

The book focuses on on the catastrophe that for some years has struck the sick olive trees by Xylella bacterium and the Salento landscape dramatically upset by the ghostly presence of their skeletons.
I am very happy to have contributed to this publication with the cover photo, taken from a photographic work on the fires in Salento that I started in 2008 and carried on for several years.
In addition to the cover photo, I add a very small excerpt from the body of the work titled Pyrographic Landscape, to mean both the face of the landscape redrawn by fire, but also the technique used for the analog development of the negatives, with the use of a legendary development in the history of photography: Pyro, a pyrogallol-based developer (a small note for the darkroom nerds who still resist).
The introduction is written by Stefano Cristante and the books is edited by Margherita Macrì.
