Photographing bodyboarding is much more than pressing a button.
It’s about understanding the ocean, anticipating the athlete’s line, working with speed, light, water movement, positioning, and reaction time, often in extreme conditions.

Another year being part of the history of the
It’s an honor to once again be involved in the coverage of one of the most traditional and heavy events in the world bodyboarding scene, capturing every moment in and out of the water through my lenses.
14 editions telling stories, emotions, victories, and all the intensity that only Itacoatiara can deliver.
Grateful for the trust and the opportunity to keep representing the event’s media team for another year.

Outro ponto técnico é a posição da câmera. Como ela registra tudo ao redor, o fotógrafo precisa posicionar o equipamento pensando no ângulo final da imagem, evitando que o próprio corpo ou a prancha invadam demais a cena. Muitas vezes a câmera fica presa a um bastão ou suporte, o que aumenta a dificuldade de controle dentro da água.
Tem também a questão da estabilidade e da refração da água. Metade da câmera pode estar fora da água e metade dentro, criando distorções ópticas, gotas na lente e variações bruscas de luz. Cada onda que passa muda completamente o cenário e exige uma adaptação imediata.
E claro, existe o fator mais importante: segurança. Trabalhar na zona de impacto, com pranchas, quilhas e séries de ondas quebrando, exige experiência no mar e muito respeito pelo ambiente.
No final, quando tudo dá certo, a recompensa é uma imagem que coloca quem vê dentro da onda, quase como se estivesse surfando junto. E é exatamente isso que faz a fotografia 360° no surf ser tão especial.
