I trained back in 2018 in China for 2.5 months...
In most of my sets and exercises there was a 10-rep rule...
Progressive overload sets - if the athlete completes 10 reps - we go up...
After usual barbell squats: 2 plates, 3, 4,
5... (10 reps each) he managed to “only” do
6 reps with 6 plates (585 lbs).
Next was Hack Squats, starting with what he just finished on squats: 6 plates x10, (it was super easy so l added 2 plates each side): 8 plates x 10...super easy...10 plates each side - 10 reps...not easy...but he did it.
That’s when I came up with “brilliant idea
“to go for crazy 12 plates each side.
I brought many helpers - just in case...and
THANK GOD & Lu didn’t get injured...
We got away with it - but in retrospect: it was a VERY stupid idea. Yes, I deserve 🤡-emoji!
