Since 2017, I’ve had the privilege of leading beginner-friendly Zentangle sessions for people whose lives have been touched by cancer—patients, survivors, and caregivers alike. Each time, 30 to 40 people from different backgrounds come together, carrying different stories but sharing a common bond. Cancer has shaped each of our lives in some way.
Although I have been cancer-free for more than 20 years, I still remember the physical, emotional, and financial challenges I faced as a young woman. Those experiences remind me how important it is to have a safe and supportive space where we can slow down, breathe, create, and simply be together.I feel deeply grateful to hold that space and witness the courage, kindness, and resilience that fills the room every time we meet.
To everyone walking this journey, thank you for showing up, for creating, and for supporting one another. We are stronger together. ❤️

Zentastic Tokyoイベント当日は主に通訳と裏方として動いていましたが、参加者さん向けのプレクラスも担当させていただきました！
今回のテーマは「Connection(繋がり)」ということで、人と人との繋がりを表現している私のタングルpeepsをストリングとして、イベント講師陣のタングルを一つずつ選びました。沢山のタングルがあるけど、タングルを作った人や逸話について知っていると、さらにそのタングルに愛着が湧き、心の繋がりを感じられるのではないでしょうか？タングルを描きながら、講師との思い出を振り返ったり、繋がりを感じたり、楽しんでいただけたらと思っています🩷ティアラペンはキラキラが華やかで楽しく描けるペンで、ちょっとした工夫で黒タイルでも綺麗に発色します。黒タイル＆ティアラの組み合わせも楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。
プレクラスのタイルを描いてくださりありがとうございました！どんな色を選ぶか、どんな風にタングルを描くか、どんな一手間で愛を加えるか、ちょっとした違いですごく雰囲気の異なるタイルになりますね。皆さんのタイルからも沢山学ばせていただきました。モザイクも華やかでしたね🥰

ゼンタングルをこよなく愛し、日本のタングラーさん達のためにこんな素敵なイベントを企画・運営してくださった美鳥先生に心から感謝です🥰 準備から当日の司会まで本当にお疲れさまでした！お道具の梱包・発送、数字やパソコンが苦手な美鳥先生のサポート、チャームの手作りなど、陰でたくさん支えてくださった古橋家の皆さんにも本当に感謝です！
講師席の後ろの幕も本当に素敵で、どうやったらこんなに大きな作品を（しかも布に！）こんなにも美しく描けるんだろ〜って、うっとり眺めていました。イベントのノベルティのデザイン、和な雰囲気が両国という場所に似合う美しいもので、いつまでも大切にしたいなと思います。スケッチブック素敵すぎてもったいなくて使えなーい😂

すごく良かった！感動した！という声、英語がとっても聞き取りやすかったという声など、賞賛の声がたくさん届いています！リードの仕方、ペースなど、私自身の教え方と似ている部分が多いので、通訳もすごくやりやすくて楽しかったです。（早く描きたいな〜とうずうずしてましたが…😆）『ゼルダの伝説』という言葉だけでときめいてしまう私としてはSuruの由来を聞いて、大好きなタングルになりました。（次のゲームの発売を心待ちにしています🥰）
２年前、シンガポールのZenacityというイベントで初めて彼女のレッスンを受けました。作品が素晴らしいことはもちろん、彼女の言葉の一つ一つにゼンタングルの考え方が深く入っていて、あ〜ゼンタングルってこういうことだよな〜と感じ、泣くほど感動しました🥹講師として、もっと上手に描けないと…とか色々と悩んでいた時期でもあったので、とても心が軽くなったのを今でも覚えています☺️
Zentastic Tokyoの企画の初期、海外から講師として誰をお招きする？という話になった時、ぜひぜひNinaさんを呼んで欲びたい！となりました。今回、遠いドイツから日本に来てくださったことに本当に感謝です。そして、日本の皆さんがNinaさんとconnectできる機会が生まれたことに感謝です。ゼンダラタイルをくるくると回しながら、繰り返し線を描いていくことで、こんなに素敵な作品が生まれる。まさにゼンタングルマジックですよね🪄

通訳としてマーサさんとモリーさんの真横という最高に贅沢な席で、描いている手元を直接ずっと見れたのはすごく嬉しかったです☺️こんな角度で彼女たちが描く姿を見る機会なんてないですよね😊皆さんが目をキラキラさせながら、お二人の話に耳を傾けているのを前から見ていて、皆さんのワクワク感と幸せが伝わってきて、とても胸が熱くなりました🥰
それにしても、こんなに緊張したセッションがあっただろうか💦というくらい緊張しました😱待望のマーサさんとモリーさんのセッションの通訳という責任重大な任務！自分が教える時の何十倍もドキドキでした💓丁寧に訳したいけど通訳者が長くなりすぎても話者が話す時間が減ってしまうし…日本語はどうしても長くなりがちなのでなかなか難しいです。お二人も通訳を間に入れながら教えるのは初めてということで、お互いに少し戸惑いながらの時間でした。松尾宏子さん（マーサの通訳担当）と一緒に通訳できて、とても心強かったです。

Zentasticが終わって、色々と落ち着いたタイミング気が緩んだのか、しっかり風邪を引いてしまいました🤧ようやく数日前から声以外は本調子に戻りました😷今週末は台風の影響で家でのんびりしながら、Zentastic Tokyoのタイルを描いています。
史絵先生のセッション１楽しかったですね！当日はバタバタしていて最初から出遅れてしまい、先生がストリングを描き終わった頃に描き始めました。まあこんな感じかなと描き進めていたら、ホリバー２本ではスペースが埋まらないぞ…となり、ちょっと無理やりホリバー４本を詰め込みました。No Mistakes😅
会場の下見に行ったり、マーサ＆モリー＆ファミリーを空港に迎えに行ったり、史絵先生とは色々と準備段階からご一緒する機会があって、楽しい思い出がいっぱいです。本当にチャーミングで素敵な人🥰
３枚目の写真はイベント前夜のスタッフ顔合わせディナーでの写真です。マリアさんが描いてくださった素敵なひまわりの絵、モリーさんが染めた布で作られた袋＆ニックさん（ご主人）の手作りのお箸という思いがけない贈り物をいただいて感動しました。一生の宝物です。皆さんも、まだまだイベントの余韻を楽しんでいると思いますので、ちょっとだけ幸せのおすそ分けです☺️

会場に来てくださった皆さん、オンラインで参加してくださった皆さん、ご参加ありがとうございました🥰 初めましての方にも沢山出会い、お久しぶりですの再会も沢山あり、とっても楽しかったです。最後の挨拶、感動しすぎで上手く伝えられませんでしたが、本当に皆さん一人一人が主役です！講師やスタッフにスポットライトが集まりがちですが、参加者の一人一人こそがイベントの主役だと思っています。お家のこと、身体のこと、仕事のことなど、この場に来るために色々なことを調整したり、周りの人のサポートや理解が必要だったと思います。それでも参加したい！という熱い思いを持って参加してくださった皆さんと、二日間ゼンタングル＆フレンドシップ漬けの時間を一緒に過ごせたこと本当に嬉しいです。私にとっても一生の宝物になる大切な思い出です。大きなイベントということで緊張しながら参加された方も、こんな初心者が参加しても良いのかな？なんて不安に感じていらっしゃった方も、海外の講師からのレッスンは初めてだからついていけるから大丈夫かなと心配されていた方も、ペンを手に描き始めればみんな仲間で、すべての雑念が消えて、ただただ楽しく描ける。そして出来上がった作品はいつも最高傑作！というゼンタングルの素晴らしさを感じていただけたのではないかと信じています。
今回のイベントの通訳という大役、とても責任重大なのですごくすごく緊張しました。『ゼンタングル プライマー』の翻訳をした時にリック＆マリアの思いが伝わるように丁寧に言葉を選んだように、マーサ＆モリー、そしてニナという素晴らしい講師達の思いが伝わるように、精一杯心を込めて通訳させていただきました。手元を見ながら真似をして描くだけではなく、講師の思いを感じながら描くことで、ただ美しいだけではない特別な思い出として残る作品が掛けたら良いなという思いで通訳に挑戦しました。緊張して、なかなか良い表現がパッと見つからなかったり、ふわっとした日本語になってしまった部分もありましたが、No Mistakesということで大目に見てください😅 芸術は言葉の壁を越えるとはいえ、やはり言葉でないと伝わらないことも沢山あります。ゼンタングルの心の部分を今回のイベントで体験することで、これからのゼンタングル人生がより深くて豊かなものとして続いていくことを願っています🩷
スタッフ＆講師の皆さん、素晴らしい仲間と一緒に、こんな素敵なイベントをすることができて本当に感謝です！
