1. When things end it’s natural to expect that maybe you can rekindle that flame, especially if it’s something you were used to. Waiting around expecting someone to do the same is the worst thing you can do, I promise you, it will 99% end in tears.
2. Give yourself time, the best way to get over someone is to get under the covering of Jesus! Trying to rush the healing process is messy and it will always come back to bite you in the bum, don’t worry about what everyone else is doing, use this time to gather all the lessons you’ve learned.
3. Forgive yourself, unfortunately we all make mistakes, we are human and no matter how hard you fight it, you’ll always be the villain in someone’s story. This also goes for picking wrong (yes my disobedient girls, I’m looking at you!) fortunately for us, our mistakes don’t define us.
4. Accept the situation for what it is and know that there is always something better around the corner (this does not have to be another relationship) but most of my growth has come from pain if I’m being brutally honest.
5. Let go of the past, this is pretty self explanatory but if your mind is in the past that is all you will ever be, also we romanticise the past because we don’t think there is better, standup!
6. If you’re in something that makes you question your worth or tells you that you’ll never get better, I beg of thee - exit stage left!
7. Last and most importantly, be honest with God about how you feel! He loves you and he cares, let him do what he needs to, he doesn’t want you to hurt 🥺🤍
