Almost two months without a single post, which in Instagram years is basically a small eternity.
The honest reason: the past months have been incredibly work-heavy. And to be fair, they still are. Most of my focus went into building Metrik, and we’ve been making some really exciting progress there lately. A lot of good things are happening at once, but good things also tend to come with long days, a full inbox and the occasional bit of stress.
Somewhere in between, posting here quietly slipped down the list.
But it finally feels like I have a bit more headspace again. And with a few collaborations and trips coming up over the next days and weeks, I’d love to take you along this time instead of just showing up with a recap months later.
The plan for autumn: get out with the camera more, photograph Hamburg again and simply create more. Fog season is coming, so at least the city is doing its part.
Whether I’ll find the time for all of it is another question. At this point I could genuinely use someone to help me out. So if you’ve ever dreamed of carrying tripods through Hamburg at 6am, reminding me to post and getting excited about fog, my DMs are open. 😄
Half joking. Maybe a little less than half.
Thanks for still being here. What should I photograph first now that I’m back?
The street vendors, crowded side streets, people rushing past, fishermen by the Bosphorus, small shops packed with things, and those quiet moments you only notice when you slow down with a camera.
Looking back at these frames, that’s probably what I enjoyed most about photographing Istanbul. It never really felt like I had to search for a photo. There was always something happening around the next corner.
Definitely one of those cities I’d love to photograph again.
Which city has been your favorite for street photography so far?
London has always had a special place in my photography. I’ve been there four or five times by now, and somehow it still feels like I’ve barely scratched the surface. It’s just one of those cities where you can walk the same streets again and again and still find completely new scenes, details and light.
A little weekend recap as well: Saturday was spent at a beautiful wedding at Schwerin Castle. The photo I shared with my girlfriend apparently caused some confusion 😄 Judging by the reactions, quite a few of you thought we might have gotten married ourselves. We didn’t - but with almost 6,000 views, it was probably one of my best-performing Stories ever.
We drove back to Hamburg late Sunday and spent another really nice day together, including dinner at the Old Commercial Room. Not an ad at all, but definitely one of those places I’d recommend. It basically feels like eating inside a little Hamburg museum.
Now it’s back to a pretty packed week. A lot is happening with Metrik at the moment, which is exciting to watch, and I’m also slowly putting together the next travel collaborations.
Copenhagen might already happen within the next few weeks, and I’m currently looking at places like Kraków and a few other destinations for later this year as well.
So for now: a little London throwback while the next trips are taking shape.
Which city could you photograph over and over again without getting bored?

I always enjoy putting these together, and it seems like a lot of you enjoy them too - which honestly makes it even more fun. There’s just something satisfying about seeing where an image started and what you can turn it into with a bit of vision and editing.
These are a few shots I found while quickly digging through my Lightroom catalog - some frames I still really like and that felt perfect for a before/after series like this.
Also, on a personal note: after sharing recently that keeping up my posting rhythm hasn’t felt that easy lately, it really means a lot to still see so much feedback here. The comments, the shares, the reposts, the likes - even if I don’t always reply to everything, I promise I see it, and I genuinely appreciate it.
And especially to those of you who have been supporting my work for years already - thank you. Really. I don’t think people outside of this Instagram/creator bubble always realize how much that kind of continued support means, but it helps more than you probably think.
We see you, and you make a real difference.
Would love to know which frame/edit is your favorite in this one.
I keep telling myself that I should go out and photograph the city more often again. But the truth is that the motivation — or maybe simply the energy — hasn’t really been there.
The past weeks and months have been long and very work-heavy. And as a self-employed person, that is obviously something positive. Having a lot to do is far better than having nothing to do. But at the same time, it can quietly take away the energy for the things you actually enjoy doing.
Sometimes you almost forget how much you like something when it starts feeling like another task on an already full list.
Posting has felt similar lately. I usually try to share something two or three times a week, but over the past few weeks that rhythm has slowed down quite a bit. And then there is the slightly frustrating side of Instagram: once the momentum is gone, it often takes time to build it back up again.
So I’m going to try to post more regularly again — even when that means revisiting older photographs or sharing images some of you may have seen before. Not every post will reach everyone, and sometimes playing the Instagram game also means giving good work another chance to be seen by new people.
These frames from Naples are already a few years old, but I still enjoy them. And maybe that is a good reminder that an image doesn’t lose its value just because it isn’t new.
Has anyone else experienced a phase where work slowly pushed the creative part of life into the background? I’d genuinely love to hear how you found your way back into it.
There is always something moving: ferries crossing the Elbe, people heading somewhere, reflections changing on the water and the light constantly reshaping the same familiar scenes.
Even after countless walks around the Landungsbrücken, I still find new angles, small details and moments that make the harbour feel different every time.

Which frame is your favorite?
Different cities, different light, different moments, and apparently a lot of decisions between “yes” and “but.”
Photography is rarely about one perfect version. Sometimes the brighter edit feels right. Sometimes the moodier one says more. Sometimes both work, just in completely different ways.
That is probably one of my favorite parts of the process: taking the same moment and seeing how much the feeling can change through light, color and editing.
So now I’m curious: Yes or But?
Which version would you choose, and which slide is your favorite?
And since you made it all the way through: thank you. Every like, comment, save or share genuinely helps more than most people realize. Especially sharing the post with someone who might enjoy it too, or adding your favorite image to your story.
It costs nothing, but it makes a real difference for creators. 🫶
A few frames from walking through the city, chasing shadows, small details, old trams, quiet corners and those warm tones that somehow always feel very Portuguese.
Nothing too planned. Just moving through the streets, stopping whenever the light made something simple feel worth photographing.

Also, you made it to the end of the carousel — and that honestly means a lot.
If you enjoyed it, sharing it with someone who might like Lisbon too or adding your favorite frame to your story would be a huge support.
Which frame feels the most like Lisbon to you?
On the beach, the glare drifts left, the tower breathes in haze; in the park, the canopy glows while the path falls quiet; in the old town, the sunset slides down a facade and gets lost in the cobbles.
A preset gives you the vibe. Masks give you direction.
👉🏼 Comment “Mask” to get access to my Pro Pack „Masks“ for 12 custom-made Presets, I use every day in my edits!
That’s how I edit. I start with a clean base for skin, sky, and tone, then sculpt.
A radial mask to pull warmth back into the sun. A linear mask to guide the viewer through a street. A soft AI highlight glow to lift stone and glass without nuking the whites.
Tiny, local moves that make the frame feel finished rather than filtered.
Presets are the base; masks make it yours. When you learn to place light, your colors suddenly make sense. When you control falloff, your edits stop shouting, and when you add texture, digital starts feeling like film.
Five quick ideas to try next session:
1️⃣ Use a radial key light where the story lives; invert it to keep the surroundings gentle.
2️⃣ Stack a linear gradient from sky to horizon, then a second, softer one for the foreground.
3️⃣ Nudge highlights with an AI highlight glow; keep it subtle so whites stay believable.
4️⃣ Add micro-contrast only in the midtones — it sharpens presence, not noise.
5️⃣ Finish with grain on quiet frames; it bonds the image and hides small banding.
If this approach resonates and you want the exact tools I use - the same local adjustments from these slides - drop MASK below, and I’ll send you the link to my Pro Pack “MASKS”.
Keep the preset as your foundation; let the masks finish the story.
Here’s a glimpse into my journey—from picking up a Canon 600D for Call of Duty montages back in 2012 to turning my passion for storytelling and visuals into a career I couldn’t have dreamed of.
I’ll take you through: 📷 How it all started (spoiler: the camera gathered dust for years 🫣). 💻 My first steps on Instagram and how a side hustle became something bigger. 🛠️ The leap in 2021 that turned „tombaenre“ into more than just a name—it became my brand. 🚀 What’s ahead for 2025 (hint: more creativity, more storytelling, and more connections).
Each slide tells a piece of the story. Hopefully, it’ll inspire you to look back at your own journey—or start shaping one.
