Portions of Minas Tirith were constructed as full-scale sets (built on the foundations of the disassembled Helm's Deep set), and the whole city as a highly detailed "big-ature" by Wētā Workshop 🏆combined with a detailed three-dimensional digital model, along with the whole of its surrounding environment.
Of the 68 miniature sets and models, about 30 were dubbed "big-atures" because they were so large and detailed, people could have actually lived in them.

He had been in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital receiving care when one film from the trilogy was being shown on TV, his son-in-law Juan Aneiros shared, and Lee suggested they watch it for fun so he could tell the nurses looking after him how the film was made.
