Congratulations to Prof. Samapti Guha (Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, School of Management and Labour Studies, TISS Mumbai) on the publication of Economics of Development Looking through Environmental and Behavioural Lens, co-edited with Prof. Chirodip Majumdar and published by Routledge.

Published in honour of Prof. Gautam Gupta of Jadavpur University, the edited volume brings together eminent scholars to examine contemporary development challenges through the interconnected perspectives of development economics, behavioural economics and environmental economics.

The book addresses a wide range of issues, including financial inclusion, women’s empowerment, human behaviour and environmental policy, urban governance, food systems, the development of disadvantaged communities, and the socio-economic and political dimensions of energy and the environment. It also explores the relevance of several Sustainable Development Goals, including Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

By connecting global development concerns with local realities, the volume offers valuable interdisciplinary insights for scholars, researchers, policymakers and development practitioners working towards sustainable and inclusive development.

We congratulate Prof. Guha and Prof. Majumdar on this significant academic achievement and wish the publication every success.
