These photographs were taken while documenting the restoration work inside Altenstein Castle. A place marked by loss after the fire years ago, and now filled again with patience, craftsmanship and quiet care.
My friend is recreating the historic wallpapers by hand, piece by piece, and being allowed to accompany this process with my camera feels incredibly special.
The warm light falling through the stained glass windows, the smell of the building, the silence between the work… it all felt like the castle was breathing again.

I have been working on releasing a set of presets for you for a very long time. But somehow I never got to finish them to a final product.
But here it is! A package with 10 colour and 2 black and white presets and a little guide that includes some words from me, a list of my gear, how I work with light and which preset is best for what.
The idea was to create a set of presets that allows you to achieve a colour grading that is moody, a bit magical but at the same time it can be also natural and simple. Maybe it reminds you a bit of film photography, or with it’s light and colours of paintings.
