NEW MIDO OCEAN STAR 200: Mido’s reputation for water-resistant watches stretches back almost a century. In the 1930s, the brand introduced its Aquadura cork-sealing system, a solution that helped establish Mido as a pioneer of water-resistant wristwatches. That expertise eventually gave rise to the Ocean Star name, which was patented in 1944, followed by the arrival of the first Ocean Star collection in 1959. It’s a name that has remained at the heart of Mido’s dive watch offering ever since, and today, the brand is introducing a new-generation Ocean Star 200, updating one of its most accessible and versatile divers with a completely fresh design while retaining the practical formula that made the original such a strong and flexible option.

The new Mido Ocean Star 200 range is available now via for purchase – A$1,400. Check out our full hands on review live now on our site and YouTube channel ⚓️.

The idea of a computer building an entire movement would have sounded like science fiction not all that long ago.

We’re used to hearing about AI in the context of writing, images and video. Applying it to the mechanics of a traditional watch movement feels like a very different proposition, one that touches on the engineering principles and problem-solving at the heart of watchmaking itself.

The best watches have always been a celebration of human ingenuity. Whether AI ever becomes part of that story remains to be seen, but it’s certainly making for some interesting conversations. How do you think we will see AI being applied in the watch industry?

Do you see this becoming a bigger thing in watches or are we going to continue seeing the human touch valued above all else?
Toy Story 5 is released today, and let’s be honest, the franchise wouldn’t be what it is without Woody, Buzz and, of course, Hollywood favourite Tom Hanks.

From Apollo 13 to Captain Phillips, Hanks has given us some of cinema’s most iconic performances. Along the way, he’s also worn some seriously great watches, from the legendary Omega Speedmaster and trusty G-Shock to bringing a bit of independent flair to the red carpet with Bell & Ross.

We’ve picked out some of our favourites, but now it’s over to you. Which Tom Hanks watch is your top pick? And have we missed any hidden gems? Let us know.

Is Henry Cavill making a case for being the best watch brand ambassador on the face of the planet right now? Dressed in full top and tails for the Royal Enclosure at Royal Ascot, the Superman actor was spotted wearing a 1926 Longines Monopusher Chronograph in yellow gold. Unless you wanted to match the King in his vintage Parmigiani chronograph, this feels like the next best option.

The watch itself is powered by the 13.33Z calibre that dates back to the 1910s, and the model he was wearing appears to be in immaculate condition. One even would be envious of. ⚓️

Great work by on getting the shot.

Get your chronographs ready, and are coming with a new series where the two of them explore everything there is to know about the modern Speedy.

Instead of your standard “History of the Speedmaster” content series, these two are going to be running through the current offering. Taking a closer look at the different varieties on offer today and the pros and cons of each model.

This might just be the perfect content for those thinking of buying their first Speedy, but still unsure about exactly which model to go for. ⚓️

Rolex has long-standing ties to skiing and mountaineering. From Everest expeditions to its association with Jean-Claude Killy, the Crown has always looked at home in the mountains.

Which makes this latest opening feel particularly fitting.

Rolex-owned Bucherer has unveiled the world’s highest Rolex boutique at Mount Titlis, perched 3,020 metres above sea level inside the newly redeveloped Titlis Tower.

Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, the former telecommunications tower has been transformed into one of the Alps’ most eye-catching destinations, complete with a restaurant, observation deck and, of course, a Rolex boutique.

It’s not every day you can spend the morning on the slopes and the afternoon browsing watches above the clouds.

We have to say, for the staff, it’s one of the more enviable commutes we’ve seen.

What do you make of it? Would this be a Rolex boutique worth travelling for?

LFG KNICKS 🏆🗽: We’d bet there’s a Knicks fan on Omega’s design team. For the NBA Finals, Nike showed its support for the Knicks with a massive billboard outside Madison Square Garden featuring Knicks superfan and New York icon Spike Lee. On his wrist? A navy-and-orange Seamaster that looks as though it could have been specially made for the campaign. But Omega fans among us will know it’s actually just one of the brand’s existing colourways. Could this Seamaster be a lucky charm? We’ll leave that debate to Knicks fans. One thing’s for sure, there’s almost certainly someone on Omega’s design team celebrating right alongside the Knicks fans. ⚓️

We knew that the Seamaster Diver 300m Chronograph 007 First Light was going to be a crucial part of the game, but now we know that you also get to pick the exact watch you want, with more choice of colour in the game than you actually get in real life.

Do you think we might see more colour variations of the real watch from Omega now that we have a choice of seven in the game itself?
