Had the pleasure to revisit Sharon Redd’s Activate and create two fresh takes on this classic.
Both mixes pay tribute to the roots of house music while offering something personal and functional for today’s dancefloors.
The Metro Mix is my nod to early proto house – raw, stripped-down, and built around a driving groove. I wanted to bring out the underground character of the original and focus on the rhythmic tension.
The Paradise Mix leans into warmer, deeper territory. With flowing piano chords, soft pads and a laid-back groove, it’s a more emotional interpretation – something timeless and inviting.
In both versions, I tried to strike a balance between function and feeling – staying close to the spirit of the original, but reimagining it through my own lens.
