I remember struggling with post partum depression, that lasted for almost a year. I hid it well from public eyes.. that it was only me and my husband who got through the nights, with me crying on the bed for hours.
I remember feeling so ashamed of myself, that I could not hold him without crying, hating myself and my overall existence as a mother.
Life was so difficult.
But somehow I fought through, and I'd like to think I made it.
I still feel overwhelming guilt everytime I hold this little boy in my arms to this day. I blame myself everytime he get flu, since I can't help but feeling that it is my fault because I didnt breastfeed him.
The guilt hurt both of us... but I am trying, everyday, to be the mother he needs. To be there for him and to make up for the lost time we could ve had.
There is not one moment I dont feel guilty as a mother... but as I see everyday how he turn out to be a beautiful soul that he is, a kind, loving little boy; I know somehow life has been kind to me afterall. God is good.
