London icons aren’t always worth the hype, but this one? It lived up to every elegant expectation.
🍰 Set beneath a stunning glass dome in the Thames Foyer, we were treated to a classic British ritual done to perfection: pillowy finger sandwiches (with very generous refills), endless tea (or coffee and hot chocolate if you prefer), and pastries that looked too pretty to eat (don’t worry—we did).
☕️ With over 30 teas to choose from and service that makes you feel like royalty, it’s easy to see why The Savoy has earned its reputation. Bonus: they offer a thoughtful children’s menu, so the whole family gets to feel fancy. And while it’s a luxury experience, The Savoy is one of the least stuffy five-star hotels in London - no jackets required for men either.
❓️Be honest - are you team pastries or team sandwiches?
💷 Was it worth the £90+ price tag? For a special occasion or a chance to dress up, absolutely!
💫 Tempted to try it? Save this post for your next London treat - and tag someone you would love to take with you!

ℹ️ Tucked away in the heart of London, this cosy café pairs your coffee with the quiet charm of Japan’s most elegant pups — the Shiba Inus. Upstairs: lattes and pastries. Downstairs: a 20-minute session with the stars of the show.
🐶 We met Meatball and Pickle (deep in snooze mode), Minnie (wide-eyed and curious), and Emi (somewhere between nap and play). I was surprised they were so sleepy considering we had the first session of the day — but turns out Shiba pups need 18–20 hours of sleep daily!
🐕 Known for their independent streak, Shibas aren’t exactly snugglebugs — think more royalty to be admired than best friend forever. That said, Minnie was sweet, calm, and friendly — perfect for little ones to meet without being bowled over by hyper puppy energy.
✨️ A lovely, low-key way to enjoy family time with a side of fluffy. If you’re after full-on cuddles, you might want to try a café with a more affectionate breed — these majestic floofs like their personal space.

🍩 is straight-up gorgeous — think gold trays, luxe décor, and donuts that belong on a runway. But while these beauties are seriously pretty amd tasty, they’re not the easiest to eat! Super sweet, loaded, and served on tiny gold trays with only plastic cutlery available — a bit tricky. The filled croissants and cookies looked delicious, and the coffee hit the spot. Prices range from £5.50–£7 per pastry. Worth a visit if you’re after something fancy.
✅️ Would I return? Definitely — next time I’ll try the Fraisier donut, as it looks a little less sweet and loaded! While I love indulgent, some of these treats are a little too much to handle (and I’ve got a sweet tooth!). Still, I totally recommend checking it out!
✨️ Thanks to for sharing Donutlier with me and suggesting a taste test!
❓️Could you finish one of these tasty indulgent treats?

👑 This isn’t your average exhibition visit. Instead, it uses cutting-edge tech to bring the world of King Tutankhamun to life through:
📹 360º projections (8m high — one of Europe’s largest!)
🥽 A seated 360º VR experience and interactive Metaverse walk-through of the Valley of the Kings. Never experienced anything like this!
🌟 A hologram room showing the full mummification process
🪙 Original Egyptian artefacts and replicas from Cairo
📷 A fun AI photo booth where you can see yourself as an ancient Egyptian!
👨👩👧👦 Family insights:
🔹️Suitable for all ages — our 7-year-old stayed engaged the whole time
🔹️Children 0–3 go free (no ticket needed). They recommend the Metaverse and VR experience for children aged 5+
🔹️The exhibition is wheelchair accessible
🔹️Takes 60–90 mins to explore
🔹️No café inside, but places to eat around ExCeL
🔹️Food and beverages, umbrellas, bags larger than A4 size, and prams are not permitted inside the exhibition - onsite lockers cost £3. Prams were left in the large entrance area.
✨️ Would we recommend it?
✅️ Yes, especially for families looking for something enriching but not overwhelming. It’s immersive, modern, and makes history feel exciting and approachable for kids and adults alike.
📅 The exhibition is RUNNING UNTIL 29 JUNE 2025 — a great pick for your next family day out in London!
❓️Would you choose this over a traditional museum?

Looking for air-conditioned fun in Doha? Gondolania inside Villagio Mall might just be the break you need from the heat and the shopping! Think of it as more of an amusement park than theme park, but with plenty to keep younger kids (and their grown-ups) happy for a couple of hours.
🎢 Inside Gondolania, you’ll find bumper cars, an F1 roller coaster, log flume, plenty of kiddie rides, a Ferris wheel and more. There's even an ice rink just outside the Gondolania entrance. Go-karting, bowling, laser wars, and a gondola boat ride through “Venetian” canals are also within the mall or amusement park.
❔️Is it Disney-level magic? No. Is it a fun, indoor escape that young kids will love? 100%.
🧒 Best for kids under 9. There are about four semi thrill rides at the most. Those require kids to be 120cm+ tall.
💰 Rides are individually priced, which works if your child only wants to do a couple of the kiddie rides. But it can get expensive if they are too short to ride alone. The best value for money is visiting Sunday–Thursday from 10am–2pm when tickets are 50 QAR per person (approx £10 per person) for unlimited goes on 20 included rides.
💷 The Roll Glider (featured in this reel) wasn’t included in the unlimited ticket — Dave paid around £12.50 and loved it! Unfortunately, even though Mya was tall enough to ride, she wasn't heavy enough.
✋️No queues during our visit — we rode the F1 Coaster twice without getting off as nobody else was waiting. It's a bizarre experience as we were often the only ones on the rides!
🏬 It's not an all-day experience, but it ticks a lot of boxes for younger kids. It's worth exploring Villagio Mall and checking out the Gondola boat ride (to be featured in a separate reel) and stopping for some food in the food court too.
❓️Would you try the roll glider?

💷 Entry is 40 QAR per person (approx £8.50 per person).
☕️ Drinks aren't included in the price- our milkshakes were delicious. Treats for the cats cost extra - they should be included!

👨👩👧Thought it was about time we properly introduced ourselves. We are a London, England based family of 3 who travel around work and school commitments. It's probably apparent from our grid that we are also certified foodies and so food is a huge part of our travels.
💫Our motto is that you never know what life will throw at you. If you like to travel then make the most of it while you can. Our aim is to visit all 7 continents as a family.
👩🏽My name is Sabina and I run the account. I would describe myself as an organised travel fanatic and a barrel of contradictions. I'm incredibly tidy on the outside but a complete chaos monkey on the inside. Never open a cupboard in my house 😂. I can't stand people eating loudly or lots of noise but I have no volume control of my own! My favourite destination to date is Borneo and French Polynesia is top of my bucket list.
👨🏻🦱Over to my long suffering husband Dave who deserves a medal for living with two incredibly fiery females. "It's obvious I like to travel, but I especially love turning up to amazing holidays that my wife has planned to perfection! I'm still waiting for a trip to beat cruising down the Nile. My bucket list destination is The Galapagos Islands".
👧🏽Introducing the youngest member of our family, Mya (age 6) a self described friendly chatterbox. "I like to travel because we get to see new places and rest on the aeroplane. My favourite place is Greece. The people were very nice, I made new friends, there were lots of cats and the beach was fun."
🏋♂️We enjoy cooking and keeping active, whether that's the gym, boxing or kung fu. We also love music and Mya is really into Formula 1 (sorry, that's my hooligan mum shouting in slide 3 😂).
🌎I never consistently travelled abroad as a child, my first trip was at age 3 to Tunisia. Dave's first trip abroad was to Austria at age 4 and Mya to Dubai.
💫We would love to hear from you in the comments. Introduce yourselves and/or share your most and least favourite destination and bucket list destination.
