Iāve been thinking about my goals on this app lately. I originally built this space to connect with likeminded people on sober or sober-curious journeys, and itās sooo great to say that it worked as I writing this on my way to meet a sober friend IRL for the first time (eek!)
This year marks 7 years since my last boozy bev which is wild and something Iām so proud of. Sobriety has felt like a way of life for a long time now. Alcohol has lost its pull completely, and sharing my story about not drinking feels different, which is why Iāve been a bit quieter here. As I transitioned into a new career, I paused coaching and closed my blog, and for now that feels right.
We hear a lot about the early days of quitting (the first weeks and months) but what about years later? Removing mind-altering substances forces us to move through life fully present, processing emotions in real time, and in doing so creates space for change in relationships, career, values, and who weāre becoming (or figuring out who we already are!)
My passion for health and wellness, exploring new places, giggles over non-alc bevs, and enjoying the present day is at an all-time high. Maybe Iāll share more of thatāsprinkled in with some vintage and resale shopping, because I love that too (anyone else??)

But when I looked through my recent photos, I saw all these tiny, beautiful moments: walks with my fam, the morning light on the yellow, orange and red trees and that first cup of coffee feeling. Little reminders that even when Iām feeling low, love and life and beauty are everywhere.
Being sick always hits my mental health hard. I really dislike feeling stuck, and in those low moments, itās easy to forget all the small, beautiful thingsāand that even when I feel stuck, home is full of little joys, like my fiancĆ© getting excited just seeing me happy over something as simple as pumpkin spice.
Itās where I feel most myself, even when I donāt.
The reality of life is there are ups and downs and finding ways through the difficult moments is what makes us stronger. Like calling your mom (s/o to mine, the best ever), reminding yourself that the feeling isnāt forever, focusing on one thing at a time, and/or leaning into a good show or book. And avoiding alcohol (a personal fave.) There are hard days, but you can get through anything and there are always always better days ahead!!
Through the ups and downs, one thing is certain: autumn really is a romantic season, and our personal love stories are a journey. Feeling so thankful for it all today. š§”š
