There are two aspects to this. The first is on a personal level. You might ask yourself, “What are my duties or obligations that will uphold my situation?”
The second aspect operates on a societal or even cosmic level. You might ask here, “What are the ethical principles that uphold society and spiritual life?”
Of course many texts interpret dharma differently, and as always, we end up with a word that can’t really be translated into English.

I’ve been suffering from shingles and basically burnout. 30 years of teaching something difficult for people to accept and running my own business while being a schoolteacher have taken its toll.
However I’m feeling I’m putting in a new and better foundation as I move to my next stage because I need to. If I don’t, I suspect there will be more trouble in store for me.
I had a life affirming consultation with Dr Akshatha, one of my fellow teachers at the. She was so knowledgeable and easy to talk to, yet totally professional.
While she makes a plan for me, I’m revisiting the book written by one of my advanced students, Penny Spurr. I really enjoyed it the first time I read it, but now I’m finding it of such practical use.
