These two shows were the best wake up call for this years festival season. I have said it a million times in different words, but I will say it again and again. Any time and place spend with that includes the band, the crew, the locals and of course the people coming to the shows, always becomes a happy place for me. A place where I can witness an energy exchange between the band and the crowd that it is always creating a magical moment. In general it’s a moment where I feel safe and taken care of. Seeing all the people’s smiles getting bigger and bigger throughout the show, never gets boring. I am addicted to this.
Some spontaneous portraits in the backstage in Saarbrücken yesterday. Being back with this family fills my heart.
Three years ago, I met here in Zürich. I came here with my hometown friends in while both bands were part of the lineup for a release show by
That night, we immediately connected. My friends witnessed how much fun I had taking pictures during their show. It’s beautiful how this led to a friendship and several invitations to Zurich and beyond, taking pictures, shooting music videos, going on tour, and in general for spending quality time together.
This time, it was their Plattentaufe for their brand-new record “OUT OF SCALE.” Besides that, it was also the last two minutes of being on stage with the band.
Thank you, Annie Taylor, for all the memories and the friendship! ❤️ Love you all, everybody in and around the band. Thank you for giving me a feeling of community here in Zürich.
Recently, during a casual stroll through the neighborhood, I took a look at one of those boxes people put in front of their doors with things they don’t need anymore. We found a book about Lanzarote, and I took it with me because I feel connected to this island.
Two days later, the flight was booked.
So often theres something that keeps you from doing the things you want to do. This time, I actually just did it! I decided to do solo adventure and go hiking.
Back in the day, my family used to travel to Lanzarote almost every year. My parents had both been there before they met, then together, and later with us, their children. Now time has passed, and it had been 17 years since I had last been there.
Since then, I have felt a great fascination with Lanzarote’s vibe. The fields of black lava rocks always had something special about them, something mysterious & mystical. At night, it could even scare me, it still does today. The winds, the fast transition between sunset & night and poorly lit towns all create a unique atmosphere. In some places it can be so quiet that the only thing you hear is the echo of your own steps. Sometimes I felt being followed, but as soon as I stood still, it became quiet again.
Another special part of our family vacations was the time we spent with Gundula, a friend of my parents who was living on the island. She was, in general, a very special person to me. When I learned about her passing, I immediately shed some tears and knew I wanted to go back, to say goodbye.
I also connected with her granddaughter, who is living on the island as well. We hadn’t met before, but she was so kind and let me stay at her place for a few nights. +points: I got to spend some time with her dog, Leila.
I realized the whole story is longer than it seemed. I can now see what kind of foundation my parents have built that I can rely on. It’s beautiful to continue their journey by adding my own part. I planned a solo trip, but I am more than happy to have made new friends…

If there’s one reason why I stuck with music photography, it’s because it opened doors through my passion. I believe that being passionate brings you to the right places and surrounds you with people who share the same energy.
“The people you meet, honestly the best part”
This little tour with Eaten by Snakes and The Carolyn is a perfect example. Even though most of the places we visited were new to us, we were greeted as friends.
The connections I build with these people by creating something together truly mean the world to me.
Happy Release Day
Just out of fun the band and I collaborated as artists. We spend a day together at their studio side, to take some pictures. During that session I took a photo that ended up being the cover of the new ‘DONOTS‘ album ‘Heut ist ein guter Tag‘.
But it’s not just that, the whole visual team behind the album artwork includes, who did all the illustrations and Josua of who put everything together and created a piece of art on its own.
This is definitely a little teenage dream that comes true. It’s also an interesting feeling to share some history with a band that was founded a year before I was born. So happy that our paths have crossed and eventually to hold this record in my hands.
Today’s a good day!
Vielen Dank für die Blumen 💐
(You could already be back.)
My dad didn’t really travel in his childhood, and so it became something he enjoyed very much in his adult life. He took every opportunity to do so.
My mom recently dug up a photo and told me the story behind it: In 1986, when my parents’ relationship was still fresh, my mom was married to another man. My parents decided to secretly fly to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands to spend two weeks together and see just what was there between them.
They had a great time. Except that my dad left his brand new Adidas sneakers at the beach. He mentioned forgetting his sneakers every time he talked about that trip, but it always seemed to me he was more focused on his growing love for my mother than those shoes.
One of our biggest adventures was a month-long road trip through seven states in the USA. It was the time of my life. I was so overwhelmed that I didn’t take many photos, but I remember it all. I could write stories about that trip forever.
I am super grateful for all those places I could explore with my dad. And I’m happy that he was sometimes able to take some time off just for himself.
In 2014, he spent a few weeks in a Buddhist monastery in Thailand, which was the beginning of a journey on which I feel he began to discover his true self. He finally “arrived,” in a way, when he walked the Camino de Santiago in the summer of 2019, just after his 60th birthday. Everyone could sense that it was one of his proudest achievements. He radiated pure happiness. He freed himself of many of his burdens on that trip.
From now on, there won’t be any journey without you. You will be always on our side. 🖤
One of my dad’s classic "dad phrases.” He said this for as long as I can remember.
For example, if I asked him to stop at a store, but for my shyness or any other reason hesitated to go in, he would poke fun at my dawdling by saying that. "Du könntest schon wieder hier sein!” You could already be back.
Well, Papa, du könntest schon wieder hier sein!
