Last month, Burnett Junior High celebrated a special milestone β the 50th anniversary of its school building. Former staff members, principals, and students returned to campus to reconnect, share memories, and celebrate the generations of students and educators who have walked its halls.
Guests enjoyed a slideshow highlighting Burnettβs history, including former staff who once attended the school as students. School Board Trustee and former BJHS Principal, Mike Williams, spoke about his time as an administrator at the school. Vox, featuring former Burnett choir students, delivered a memorable performance.
π A special thank you to BJHS Counselor Heather Smyder for organizing this meaningful celebration and helping preserve the stories that make Burnett such an important part of Wylie ISD history.

Campers spent the week developing their skills, competing, and learning from dedicated coaches who helped make every day a great experience. There was plenty of hard work, lots of smiles, and no shortage of fun on the field. π

This year, members of the Superintendent Advisory Council took on a unique challenge. Armed with disposable cameras, they set out to capture the people, places, and moments that make them proud to call Wylie ISD home.
πΌ With cell phones off the table, the project was all about slowing down, paying attention, and documenting real life as it happened. No filters. No editing. Just authentic snapshots of school life through the eyes of our students. π
...Now, a quick confession: disposable cameras are apparently as unpredictable as they are nostalgic. While some photos turned out great, others are so dark they look like they were taken in outer space! Because of that, we're sharing only a selection of the photos that survived the journey from camera to film lab. π
