Easter Bunny Feelings Wheel

We have had so many rainy days here, and we are all really looking forward to spring and a bit sunshine. With all the rainy days we have had quite a few fall outs over sharing toys and even sharing space. Reflecting on emotions is one of the ways I try to manage these situations.

I made this feeling wheel, Easter bunny themed, to try to get the boys to think about how they feel and how one another might feel. All the have to do is use the clothes peg to point out the emotion.

How do you manage big feelings in your house?

Breakfast For Mummy

Today, I thought we would re share our breakfast for mummy. Obviously the tray wasn’t for me, the breakfast was to share with Baby Belle with the boys taking on the role of mummy. I just love watching them play like this.

I hope you all have a lovely Sunday, whatever you do ❤️❤️

A shout out to some of my favourite mummies who inspire me on a daily basis! Tagged them in this post as if you don’t know them yet, your life will be better when you do ❤️

Weekly Learning Board

As a family we have come together to make this weekly learning board. There are a number of reasons we wanted to try this out. A mixture of too many requests for screen time, a loss of a bit of routine and a increase in my personal anxiety.

Our plan is, on a Sunday night we are going to pick a topic from the board. We will then have a chat about what we would like to learn, where we might find that information out, and where we could maybe go to find out more. On a Monday we will then take a trip to the library to take some books out on the topic and then create some crafts and activities throughout the week. Hopefully we can then also take a family trip at the weekend to the museum, farm, supermarket etc that fits with the theme.

This week we have chosen endangered species.

We really hope you’ll enjoy seeing what we do together.

Cupid Love Potion Station

Today my eldest son asked for some potion play. It is always a huge hit with the boys so I thought I’d make it a wee bit valentines focused. I drew a poster on cardboard with pens and then set up our potion resources on the table.

Secret Message Valentines Affirmations

I have been meaning to try secret messages with crayon and water colour for a while and thought this was a great time. It actually wasn’t as easy as I thought!! I used the inside of a cereal packet to cut out the love hearts, with a white crayon I wrote out positive affirmations. We then used water colours to reveal the positive affirmation.

Our very well loved water colour set is from which has been such a great set!

I Love You Beary Much Gift

We made these lovely little valentines gifts from paper plates for #valentinescardboardplay. I cut up some pink tissue paper into small squares. The boys then covered their plates jn PVA glue and stuck on down the tissue paper. We then used a mixture of card and felt to make the nose, eyes and ears. We finished off by drawing a smiley face and adding a special message on to the back of the plate.

Our tissue paper and black felt pen are both from

Valentine Crayon Coding

We have had so much fun with this tonight. We have been doing timed turns on how quickly we can match the crayons to the prompt card! 10.5 seconds was the fastest for my eldest son.

Coding activities are always a hit with the boys and I created this by making a cardboard grid and making prompt cards with pens.

We used our lovely heart crayons from.

Breakfast For Santa

Making a cardboard meal is one of our favourite activities. The boys really love playing with cardboard food, so who better to cardboard cook for than Santa.

Using our posca pens I drew out the food and popped it on the tray. The boys have been playing about with what they offer Santa. Apparently he really likes strawberries.

Colour Matching

Here is a quick video of how we set up our present colour matching which we posted yesterday.

All you need is….
🎁 paper
🎁 pens (we used )
🎁 scissors
🎁double sided tape or blue tack
🎁 coloured stickers

This was great for my two little boys as it encouraged fine motor skills by removing the stickers from the sheet, hand eye coordination, colour knowledge and finally numeracy as we counted how many stickers we put on each present.

Egg Box Rabbit House

My boys love little houses for their toys and still enjoy the experience of sensory materials. I combined the two to make this little rabbit house.

I cut out the back section of the egg box and stuck on a bit cardboard which I decorated to have windows and some curtains and photo frames for details. I added some flowers and loose parts.
