Manifested so hard that I moved to Munich from a small town in the middle of nowhere in Germany 💫

Spent 2025 in the city I love & live in, met so many people, made friends, spent countless hours in the Alps and saw so many incredible sights all around Munich!

Excited to see what the next year is going to look like🤞🏻🤩

🎄Make the most of your visit to the German Christmas Markets with these 11 essential tips!

💸 Carry cash – Most stalls in Christmas markets in Germany don’t accept cards.
🗓️ Avoid weekends – Beat the weekend crowds by visiting in weekdays and enjoy a calmer stroll.
☕️ Collect the mugs – Each market has unique Glühwein or hot chocolate mugs.
🧣 Dress warmly – Layers, scarves, and gloves are a must!
🥨 Try local specialties – From Nürnberger Lebkuchen to Bratwurst. Checkout my previous post for a list of food to try in the Christmas Markets in Germany!
🍷 Explore drinks beyond Glühwein – Try Feuerzangenbowle, hot cider, or local craft beers.
🏰 Check out theme markets – Medieval, artisan, pink, or family-friendly markets offer unique experiences.
🎒 Bring a backpack – Carry your purchases hands-free and keep snacks handy.
🚃 Travel by public transport – Avoid parking hassles and enjoy easy city access.
🧼 Souvenir ideas – Wooden crafts, handmade soaps, ornaments, or hand-painted decorations make perfect keepsakes.
🗓️Check opening hours & holiday closures – Don’t miss your favorite stalls; many markets close early or on certain days. While most Christmas markets end on 23 or 24 December in Germany, a rare few markets remain open a little later. Check this in advance before your visit!

Save these practical tips for your visit to the the most beautiful cafe in Vienna👇

📍 Café im Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna

🕰️ Opening Hours

• Closing times vary (generally 6 PM, Thursdays usually longer). Always check the museum’s website before visiting.

🎟️ Ticket Cost
You can visit the cafe ONLY with a museum ticket.
• Standard ticket: €22 per adult (online).
• Save money with a combo ticket or Vienna Pass if you’re visiting multiple attractions.

⏰ Best Time to Visit
• Be at the entrance at 10 AM sharp - there was a long queue to enter the museum & another queue for the cafe when I visited in November 2025.

🍰 What to Try
• The famous Viennese Melange
• Sachertorte
• Hot chocolate if you’re visiting in winter

💡 Helpful Tips
• Make a reservation in advance!

Hello There 👋🏻

Some new faces here so I thought I‘d (re)introduce myself!

My name is Soujanya, even though you probably know me as 💃🏻

I post content on Germany travel, local‘s perspective on Bavaria & Munich, hidden gems in Bavaria and lots of other Europe travel tips, photo guides etc.

I have a specific hashtag for each location I visit.
E.g. all my Germany posts are under #TSJxGermany
France posts under #TSJxFrance, Goa posts under #TSJxGoa etc.

I used to backpack solo in India but in Europe I travel around with my husband. We both work 9-5 jobs, live in Munich and make the best use of our vacation days to travel! Although, we do love downtime, and never get off our couch on some days!

If you’re new here and have a question, always feel free to drop a DM with your query! 💕

Don’t miss this itinerary if you have just 1 day in Bavaria🌱

Here’s the perfect 1 day itinerary for Bavaria, Germany:

1️⃣Eibsee
Start the morning early by driving to Eibsee from Munich. The most beautiful lake in Germany has a 7.5 km shore, crystal clear waters and an epic view.
You can swim in the waters during peak summer, rent a boat or kayak, hike the shoreline or simply sit by the lake.

2️⃣Garmisch Town
Head over to the cute town of Garmisch and walk along the historical Ludwigstraße. Don’t miss the Olympic ski jump here.

3️⃣Mittenwald
One of the cutest towns in Germany, stop here for a quick Bavarian lunch in the city centre and take a stroll around the town.

4️⃣Leutasch-klamm
Although Partnach-klamm is the most popular gorge in Bavaria, visiting it can be time consuming if you‘ve got limited time. In comparison, Leutasch is much easier to visit. It‘s only a scenic 15 minute drive from Mittenwald and there’s plenty of street parking. From the parking lot, a beautiful 10 minute walk gets you to this underrated gorge.

5️⃣Geroldsee
If you still have time at the end of the day, stop by Geroldsee on the way back for one of the most instagrammable places in Germany.
