Mr X and I stopped at this past weekend for a quick lunch and it was deeeelicious as usual! 😋 I’ve been here a couple times before but only for takeout, so it was really nice to finally have a sit-down meal with Mr C this time 🍔
Honestly, burgers are much more presentable without the squished-ness from takeout containers 🤣 They were beautifully made (I took A LOT of pictures 🤭). After my first visit here, I already knew I wanted to make a post eventually, so I’m glad we finally made it in person and I can share now! 📸

We used one of the flyer coupons: $9.99 for any burger, so to maximize, Mr C went with the • Ridiculously Huge Burger • (reg priced at $16.99). And yes, as you can tell — it’s huuuuge! Very stacked, very filling so needless to say, Mr C was VERY full 😋
I got my go-to, the • Chick ‘N’ Lickin’ Burger • which is basically a crispy chicken Caesar in buns! I love love loveeee this one the chicken and bacon are so crispy 🥓 portion size is good for the price!
One thing I really like is that you can pick your own buns! My favourite so far is the potato bun, so soft and perfect with the burgers 🤤
They also have a variety of meat options like elk, bison, boar, lamb, turkey, along with the usual beef and chicken — plus vegetarian and vegan options! 🍔
We also added fries + pop as a combo to share between us, but honestly, we were both already very full after our own burgers 🤣
Not shown here, but Mr C also tried their • Driving Crazy Burger • (elk Patty) and he gave it a big ol’ thumbs up!
The interior is spacious, bright, and clean! Making it a comfy spot to sit and enjoy your food — and they have multiple locations across Sask 🌾

Instead of a year-end recap, here’s a throwback to a Saskatoon gem — from back in October.
This was my second visit and it didn’t disappoint. Late-night hours were a big draw for Mr C and I and while it’s not a traditional izakaya, the flavours were spot on.
They were very busy when we went, so we ended up sitting at the bar — honestly a great spot to watch everything happen. Service was great and attentive despite how packed it was!
We went with their • Skewer Set • (chicken, steak, pork) plus an extra • Steak Skewers • set 🍢:
• Steak: spicy and flavourful — even better with lime
• Chicken: the best one
• Pork: interesting, in a good way
For our main, we shared the • Steak & Eggs Bibimbap • — so good on my first visit that I had to order it again. Flavours were perfect and well-balanced. Love that it’s with steak AND the usual beef it’s so kinda like double the meat 😋
I also tried their • White Rabbit • cocktail, one of their signature drinks. I grew up with White Rabbit candies, so I had to. Light, slightly creamy, subtly sweet, and citrusy 🐇
I’d definitely return, and while Mr C didn’t enjoy it quite as much as I did, mainly due to personal preference and pricing, we still enjoyed the food and experience overall.
It’s a pretty great option for a downtown date night and definitely a gem of Saskatoon if you’re looking for good food and drinks ✨

From what I do know: HALINÁ is all about modern Filipino cuisine 🇵🇭 Taking classic Filipino flavours and giving them a more elevated, contemporary twist. Think bold, comforting Filipino flavours presented in a more polished, contemporary way that fits right into Vancouver food scene 🙌🏻.
I skipped the prices since they may have changed since their visit, but I still didn’t want those photos to go to waste! Effort + good food + summer memories = a lost!

I initially was just going to share an IG story but honestly…I loved so much that it deserves its own little post ✨
I’ve been searching for local bakeries that make Asian-style cakes for the wedding, and found out Cesar’s does them — and at an affordable price too! So it instantly went on my list to try. Asian cakes are usualtl lighter, fluffier, less sweet — basically the kind you can eat a big slice without feeling overwhelmed 🤣
So I figured…what better time to do a little cake test than on my birthday? 🤭 I already trusted their quality, so I wanted to try it together with my friends! Not entirely as a blind test but I because I trusted that they’d enjoy it too! I’ve had desserts from Cesar’s before and always enjoyed it. The 8” cake travelled well with me all the way to Regina 🤣
Not gonna lie, visually it wasn’t what I pictured at first. In hindsight, I realized I didn’t read the details closely enough and they actually did exactly what the description said 😅 so I was extra curious how it would taste.
But oh my lord…it was better than I imagined 🤤
The fruits, the sweetness, the texture — perfection 🙌🏻 everyone at my little birthday gathering loved it, and most people even grabbed a second slice! Even Mr C took big bites…and he’s not a cake person at all 🤭
Huge thanks to for making such an amazing cake — honestly better than expected! I can’t wait to try more of your baked goods in the future 😋
Also, shout out to them for taping the cake box so well because after a 2.5 hour drive, it barely moved so it was still very intact by the time we got to Regina!
I didn’t list the price since it really depends on how you customize your cake — size, flavour, toppings and overall design can change the cost. I wanted extra fruits and I got ‘em - worth the extra money!🍓🍊🥝🥭

Last Thursday, Mr C and I went to our first ever menu pairing at and had such an amazing experience!
We were seated right at the front, which meant we got to see everything up close and really take in the whole experience.
It was hosted by trusted expert Tracey and she was so enthusiastic and fun — we loved learning from her!
As a self-proclaimed picky eater (and confirmed by Mr C 🤭), I genuinely enjoyed every dish… even one I thought I’d never like 🫣
Starting with the • Roasted Tomatoes & Whipped Feta • on artisan bread. I usually don’t like tomatoes or feta, but this combo was perfect. Paired with either • Manos Negreas Select Pinot Noir 🍷• or • Ross d’Asiago Limoncello 🍸• and honestly, we loved it with limoncello the best 💛
Next was the • Tuna Sushi Stack • on crispy rice chip. I usually avoid tuna, but the flavours were incredible — so balanced and flavourful without it being too *fishy* It paired with the • Cran-Pom Saketini • which was our favourite pairing of the night! Even Mr C, who doesn’t usually like raw fish, was impressed!
Then came the • Cashew Tofu Lettuce Wrap •. I love tofu, so I had high hopes — and it did not disappoint 🤤 Light, crunchy, comforting. Paired with Villa Maria ‘Earth Garden’ Sauvignon Blanc or District Craft Light Lager, which got Mr C’s approval (and no allergy sneezes 🤭).
And to finish, • Sticky Toffee Pudding • paired with St. Rémy XO Napoleon. You could pour the brandy over the dessert or sip it on the side — fun, strong and such a cool way to end the night!
We also loved getting some behind-the-dish insights from the team along the way — it made the experience even more engaging! 🩷
Oh and the best part? All of the dishes we tried are available on the regular menu — highly recommend checking them out 😋

It’s technically meant for one person per week, but it was easily enough for both Mr C and I — and I even shared extra fruits and veggies with family because one box alone was a lot!
If you’re new to Odd Bunch…they rescue perfectly good produce that grocery stores don’t take because of sizing, shape, or cosmetic “flaws”. Instead of letting it go to waste, they pack it into weekly subscription boxes and send it straight to your door 📦 The produce is still fresh, flavourful, and completely usable — just a little quirky! I wanted a quick lunch before heading out of the city for the weekend, so I stopped by and tried the newly opened wrapnroll.sk again.
My first visit a couple months back left me unsure, but I remembered the portions were good. This time, I asked if their Vietnamese spring rolls were homemade — the owner told me she makes them by hand, so I gave it another try!
I tried the pork ones this time and it wasn’t bad at all! Nicely packed and a good-sized piece. I ate two and brought the rest for Mr C and he said it was good too. Also really liked their fish sauce — it had a tiny hint of spice.
I ordered the Grilled Chicken on Noodles, and the owner was so generous she gave me two complimentary pork to try! It wasn’t the typical pork slices — it’s more like a pressed pork style (kinda spam-like but better), lightly grilled on the outside. Different than expected but still flavourful!
Portion-wise, definitely solid — lots of noodles, fresh salad, cucumbers, and carrots. I requested no bean sprouts, but I don’t think there were any to begin with and I think it prompted the owner to ask if peanuts were okay — just in case it was an allergy thing — which I thought that was very thoughtful!
On my first visit, I also tried their Boba Tea which came with pearls and grass jelly — both my favs 🧋It leaned a bit sweet for me personally, but still enjoyable.
What really stood out to me on both visits was how attentive and sweet the owner is. She checked on me with the biggest smiles, made sure everything was good, noticed me picking out the green onions and even apologized (which she didn’t have to — I should’ve mentioned it!). She brought me ice water when she saw I didn’t have a drink, and even gave me a bag so I wouldn’t be awkwardly carrying my leftovers around 😅
While the food may not be spectacular, the portions are good and the service is honestly the sweetest! If you’re in the area and want a quick bite, they’re definitely worth supporting 💛

I’ve been to twice now and even tho I got the same sub both times, it was sooo gooood both times 😋
I tried their Firehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket which has smoked beef brisket (of course), melted cheddar 🧀, BBQ sauce, and mayo (I skipped it) — plus a side of dill pickle spear 🥒 its simple and deeeeliicous 🤤
First time — I got the Large (12”) size and it was a good amount to share with Mr C! I picked it up to-go and it was still nice and warm by the time I got home — the bread was still soft, the brisket stayed tender and juicy, and it was packed with flavour in every bite 😋 It’s hearty without being overly heavy and super satisfying 🤤
Second time — I got the Medium (8”), went with Frankie and also to-fo. She got the Brisket Hat Trick and very much enjoyed it too! 😋 They have a mini hot-sauce station (which I skipped the first visit), so we tried a few this time. One that stood out was the Fat Peach Maple Bourbon — partly cause of the name 🤣 but also because the tangy peach and spicy kick combo works so well! 🔥it’s a level 2 spicy, so just enough heat to notice without empowering the flavours.
It’s definitely a bit more $$ for subs, but I like how it’s not the usual deli-meat + veggies + cheese combo. Beef brisket isn’t something I make at home, so it was fun (and tasty) to try in sub form. Not something I’d grab every week, but definitely worth it once in a while! 😋

It’s been a while since I’ve been to! I came for desserts, but their banh mi sandwiches caught my attention again 👀
I tried their Five Spice Short Rib Croissant 🥐 — a croissant filled with marinated short rib, pickled carrot, cucumber and cilantro (I opted out of the cilantro 😅). It was paaacked with flavour 🤤 The only thing I wished was that it came on regular bread so there’d be a bit more substance to balance it out. Don’t get me wrong — the croissant was flakey and buttery, just a little too light for how bold the filling was.
Next, I went for the Iced Salted Cream Latté — definitely something I don’t see often elsewhere, and it did not disappoint! You can really taste the salty note (a must for me 😋) and I loved it. I got mine with oat milk (not sure if there was an extra charge) but I’d definitely get it again! ☕️
And lastly, dessert — because how could I not? 😍 Everything is beautifully made! I tried the Mango Grapefruit Choux 🥭, made with Crunchy choux, vanilla cream, passion jelly and mango mousse 🤤 It tasted as good as it looked - and not overly sweet! The top is a mango-shaped mousse sitting on a crisp choux pastry filled with cream. It’s a bit tricky to eat as a two-layer dessert — I tried getting both in one bite and it got messy real quick 🤣 The top wanted to slide off while the bottom was bursting with cream 😛 I ended up eating half and packing the rest cause I was so full!
It was definitely not a disappoint visit — I can see why they were named 🏆 Winner — in Bakery (Regina) — and honestly, so well-deserved! 😋💛
They now have two locations in Regina! I went to the University Park Dr location, but they have one at Harbour Landing — so you’ve got two places to enjoy their French-style pastries made with prairie-grown wheat 🌾 and a modern touch 💖
