It was quite the experience. As I started drawing the outline of my mum’s face, it took me back to my childhood, when Mum used to do my hair, put lotion on my skin, wax my legs late at night, and so much more.
And when I started to paint, we were told to choose two colours that resembled our mums the most. I immediately knew one had to be red, cause she is my definition of femininity and independence. that red bold lip is my mum’s statement. The other colour I chose was light brown, to represent the earthiness and subtle elegance my mum carries.
I wanted to put every colour on that dress, but I kept it simple and bright. just like her personality that radiates from her soul.
I chose purple as the background because Mum is calming… even if she has absolutely no chill sometimes. 💜
