Happy IDAHOBIT 🏳️‍🌈

The fight for LGBTIQA+ rights and a world free from discrimination is ongoing, and can be relentless. But I’m so glad I have a wonderful community around me doing this important work 💕

Trans and gender diverse people are part of every community yet continue to face systemic barriers across almost every part of life.

The Equal Identities report from doesn’t just name this, it shows where systems are failing, and what needs to change

This report is so comprehensive and such an important tool that we can all use to create change.

Here is a snapshot of the report, along with some actions I've put together on how you can use this report to create change.

It’s Trans Day of Visibility today and so I’ve taken some time to reflect on what this means in 2026.

I have talked about how we have always existed, and regardless of the horrible things that are constantly getting thrown at us right now - we are still finding joy and building connections and showing up for each other. These things might seem small, but they are everything for so many of us.

Happy TDOV folks, and remember there are loads of people here who love and support you no matter what 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

You can never go wrong with dungarees / overalls…especially when they have sunflowers all over them 🌻

I always get so many compliments on this outfit - especially from other fat queers (which just hits different 🫶). It’s my absolute fave 👌

🌻💕

What I wore on my first day in the new office 👔

The black t-shirt I bought ages ago from

The black linen collared shirt is originally from (RRP $60) but I bought it from the op-shop recently for $8.

The high waisted chino pant is ‘Breakers’ branded from which I bought from the op-shop for $9 (RRP looks to be roughly $20-$30).

I rarely wear a high waisted pant because I can’t find one that fits me and I like, but found 4 PAIRS in the opshop the other day. Needless to say I was very happy!

And of course there is my trusty pair of Doc Martins which I’ve had for so many years now! 👞

Video description: Stevie in their living room showing their outfit. Stevie has a short curly blonde/brown mullet, fair skin and is a fat/plus size, androgynous/masculine presenting person. They are wearing glasses.
Fresh cut, thrifted shirt, sunnies at the ready.

All set for my first day back in the office (in a fancy new city building).

2XL Connor Polo shirt bought from the op-shop for $8 (RRP $16.99 new)👌

The Queensland government’s decision to ban gender-affirming care for trans youth is a cruel and unnecessary attack on their right to live as their authentic selves. Health Minister Tim Nicholls’ politically motivated ban contradicts expert medical advice and has halted vital care for 491 young people—many who had already been waiting for months or even years.

Trans youth deserve the same respect and autonomy as their cisgender peers when making healthcare decisions. They, alongside their doctors, specialists, and families, should determine the best course of action—not politicians with no expertise in gender-affirming care.

Blocking access to this care doesn’t just deny medical treatment—it actively causes harm. Research shows gender-affirming care improves mental health, reducing depression, anxiety, and suicidality. The Queensland government is instead sending a devastating message: that trans young people’s needs don’t matter.

That’s why today, on National Day of Action to support trans youth, thousands across Australia took to the streets, demanding the ban be reversed and calling for gender-affirming care to remain accessible and affordable. Trans youth deserve better. We won’t stop fighting until they get the care and respect they deserve.

Thank you so much for your amazing organising across the nation and for collaborating and organising my local event in Boorloo/Perth.

An important reminder to all the trans, gender diverse and non-binary kids out there who don’t feel supported or loved right now, especially given recent events around the Religious Discrimination Bill in Australian parliament:

You are loved
You are accepted
Diversity is beautiful
Fuck the cistem
Trans joy is resistance
We got your back

Stevie looking at the camera wearing a white shirt in front of a trans flag hanging up behind them. They point to the words coming up on the screen: “This is a reminder to all the trans people out there, you are beautiful and worthy of love, respect and happiness. This world is a much better place because you are in it. And when you’re feeling alone and like no one understands, please know there is a wonderfully diverse trans community online who see you and support you unconditionally.”
They then put their hands in the shape of a love heart, and a gif comes up with a trans rainbow saying “trans is beautiful.”
