Ein Ektropium bezeichnet eine Auswärtsdrehung des Unterlides, bei der das Lid nicht mehr korrekt am Augapfel anliegt. Dadurch können Tränenlaufen, Fremdkörpergefühl, Rötungen, chronische Reizungen und Entzündungen entstehen.
Bei dieser Patientin zeigte sich zunächst ein narbenbedingtes Ektropium des linken Unterlides nach Exzision eines Hauttumors. Die Korrektur erfolgte mittels Tarsal-Strip-Procedure mit Hauttransplantat aus beiden Oberlidern.
Im Verlauf blieb das linke Unterlid stabil. Jahre später entwickelte sich am rechten Unterlid ein altersbedingtes Ektropium, das erneut Beschwerden verursachte. Auch dieses wurde mittels Tarsal-Strip-Procedure korrigiert – diesmal mit Hauttransplantat aus dem Bereich vor dem Ohr, von wo aus wir eigentlich Facelifts beginnen.
Der Fall zeigt, dass ein Ektropium unterschiedliche Ursachen haben kann – narbenbedingt oder altersbedingt – und dass die operative Korrektur vor allem eine funktionelle Bedeutung hat: Schutz des Auges, stabile Lidkante und Beschwerdefreiheit.

Frau Dr. Melodi Motamedi konnte mit unserem Team in unserer aktuellen Publikation „From T to L to I: Risk Factors in Medial Thigh Lifts after Massive Weight Loss—Is Less Sometimes More?“ zeigen, dass die Wahl der Technik einen relevanten Einfluss auf Komplikationsraten, Narbenlänge und Operationsdauer haben kann. In der untersuchten Kohorte von 750 Oberschenkelstraffungen nach massivem Gewichtsverlust zeigte die I-Technik im Vergleich zu L- und T-Techniken die niedrigsten Komplikationsraten.
Die hier gezeigten Ergebnisse entstanden bei Patientinnen mit medizinischer Indikation nach massivem Gewichtsverlust.
