We spent the day with local artisans learning about pottery, weaving and natural dyeing techniques that have been practised for generations. There is something incredibly special about seeing traditions kept alive not in museums, but in everyday life💛
These are the moments that stay with you long after the photos are taken. The local people, the conversations, the curiosity and the chance to learn from a culture rather than simply observe it.
A truly special day in Peru 🇵🇪

📍San Pedro Market in Cusco felt like the heartbeat of Peru. Rows of potatoes in colours I didn’t even know existed. Medicinal herbs passed down through generations. Women selling grains, cacao, giant corn, coca leaves, cheeses, fresh juices, textiles and stories in equal measure.
What fascinated me most is that Peru is considered one of the world’s great centres of crop diversity. Thousands of varieties of potatoes originate from the Andes, alongside foods the world now treats as “superfoods” like quinoa, maca, and amaranth. Long before wellness trends caught up, Indigenous Andean communities were cultivating these ingredients at high altitude using agricultural systems developed by the Incas centuries ago.
Even drinks here carry history. Chicha morada, made from Peruvian purple corn, dates back to pre Columbian times. Coca leaves have also been used in the Andes for generations for ritual, medicinal, and cultural purposes, especially in high altitude regions like Cusco.
I think this is what I love most about travelling. Not just seeing a country, but understanding how people live, eat, heal, celebrate, and preserve traditions. Markets tell you more about a place than luxury hotels ever could. You see what people actually cook at home. What grandparents still believe in. What survives generations.
And honestly… there’s something beautiful about realising how much of the food the world eats today began in places like South America, cared for by communities who rarely get the credit they deserve. 🇵🇪✨🌽🥔🍍

And then there’s this whole other side of my life.
The side that loves creativity and storytelling and filming tiny moments that would otherwise disappear. The side that gets excited about cute cafés, nice outfits, brand events, editing reels at midnight and romanticising very ordinary moments in London.
And apparently that combination still surprises people sometimes 😭
But I think one of the saddest things we do as adults is slowly abandon parts of ourselves just so we can fit more neatly into the identity people understand best. As if choosing a serious career means you must become a serious person all the time.
I don’t think we were meant to live like that.
I think we are allowed to be intelligent and playful, ambitious and soft, clinically minded and deeply creative. I think we are allowed to build lives that make absolutely no sense to other people but feel completely right to us.
So maybe the real question is… if nobody was waiting to judge or misunderstand you, what kind of life would you let yourself build? ✨

if I’m being honest, sometimes we talk about the hypothetical child we might’ve had. For some reason, in our heads, it has always been a little girl😅
aaaaand then we look around at the state of the world. The cruelty, instability, violence, pressure.. all of it. And it quietly reinforces our decision to remain childfree. Also, please do not start with “this is how the world has always been”. That has never felt like a comforting argument to me, nor a meaningful reason to bring a child into the world. Sooooo, choosing not to have children has never come from emptiness or fear for us. If anything, it has come from thinking about it very deeply. And this might be controversial to say, BUT I genuinely think many people who choose to be childfree have probably spent more time interrogating the ethics and realities of parenthood than a lot of people who simply follow the default path without questioning it. But, the world is not ready for that discussion yet!
because even when people defend parenting, the reasons are often still centred around adult desires, legacy, connection, love, meaning, companionship. I mean, none of those things are inherently wrong, but they are not child centred in the way society often pretends they are. Even the most loving parent is still making a profound wager on someone else’s future without their consent (there I said it!). Acknowledging that complexity is NOT anti parenthood. It is just honest. So yes, we can appreciate deeply loving and responsible parents while still questioning the romanticised narrative that every birth is automatically an act of altruism. So a reminder that, holding both ideas at once is not disrespect.
maybe this is also the South Asian in me beginning to question the things our cultures and societies have followed blindly for generations. Especially the way parenthood is often packaged as inherently selfless, moral or superior. I do not think it is that simple.
as the older I get, the more I realise that living consciously will always matter more to me than living conventionally🌝

happy gloomy BH Monday ⭐️
taking this as my official sign to go and confront the garden🫐
There’s something uncomfortable about knowing you’re not fully ready and doing it anyway 🙆🏻♀️✨You realise that the feeling you’re waiting for doesn’t really arrive. What does show up instead is experience, perspective and a quieter kind of confidence that builds along the way.💛

Soooooo.. I am trying to find a balance between the content I enjoy making and the expectations I feel like I have carried with me for a long time. Sometimes it feels like there is a voice in the background asking what impact this is having and whether it is enough.
I love making this kind of content, but I also find myself overthinking it and questioning where it fits in my life.
There is also a part of me that is aware I will finish training in a year and become a consultant, and I think that makes me question what this page is supposed to be or whether it needs to be anything at all. It is something I enjoy, but I still catch myself attaching pressure to it.
Maybe not everything has to have a bigger purpose attached to it? Maybe some things are allowed to just exist alongside everything else? 🙆🏻♀️
