This is how much I spent on my solo snowboarding trip to the infamous Les 3 Vallées, France 🇫🇷
✨Lift Tickets✨
Since I have the full Epic Pass, I got to snowboard up to 7 days for free at any of the 7 resorts that make up the 3 valleys. Otherwise, window tickets cost 79€ ($83 USD) per day.
✨Rentals✨
For rentals, I decided to fly all my gear with me so I could save extra money.
✨Accommodations✨
For 7 nights in the Méribel center, it was around 1800 euros (~$1900 USD) so $271/night. I had a hard time finding anything affordable. A lot of it probably had to do with it being over the New Year’s holidays 😅
✨Meals✨
For a week of groceries, it came out to about $300 for my friend and I. I would probably say a third of that was on wine though.
We decided to go out for dinners most of our nights and of course we also had to check out a few après ski spots. We didn’t do this every day but on average, we probably spent $60/person per night. It should also be mentioned that we were actively trying to save money. You can EASILY spend hundreds of dollars per day if you wanted to.
✨Transportation✨
There are multiple ski bus companies and they all roughly cost the same. We ultimately took Ben’s Bus because of our timing which cost us $126 RT/person.
✨Flight (LAX>CDG>GVA)✨
I booked Air France for 50,000 Flying Blue miles + $245 taxes/fees.
✨Return Flight (GVA>RVN)✨
For my return flight, I wasn’t going back home but I was flying off to Finland and that ticket only cost me 7,500 Alaska miles and ~$57 in taxes/fees.

To get to Les 3 Vallées, spend 7 nights over the New Year’s holiday, and to snowboard cost me around $1650.
If I want to include the flights to this portion, then it would total out to $1950 and 57,500 miles.

Chamonix is home to Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe, and it hosted the very first Winter Olympics in 1924, basically making it the birthplace of competitive winter sports as we know them today.

Chamonix is often called the “capital of extreme sports” because it’s a global hotspot for freeride skiing, snowboarding, paragliding, and mountaineering.
• The Aiguille du Midi cable car takes you from town to 12,605 feet in about 20 minutes, one of the highest cable cars in the world.
• You can step into a glass box called “Step Into the Void” and literally stand suspended over the Alps with nothing but glass beneath your feet.
• Chamonix sits at the crossroads of France, Italy, and Switzerland, making it easy to ski one country and have lunch in another.
• It attracts elite athletes year round and is a training ground for some of the world’s best skiers, climbers, and trail runners.

If you can make it over Christmas, I think that’s probably the best time to go. The town is filled with Christmas markets, cute shops, fancy restaurants, and beautiful scenery. 🥰

For the next couple of weeks, I’m going to be doing a recap of my solo snowboarding trip I did around the world earlier last year.
There were a bunch of resorts I didn’t get to cover so I’m starting from the beginning and adding a bunch of new content along the way.

This is how much I spent on my solo snowboarding trip to Chamonix, France 🇫🇷
✨Lift Tickets✨
Since I had the Ikon Base Pass, I got to snowboard up to five days for free at any of the 5 resorts that make up Chamonix. Otherwise, window tickets cost around 51 to 71 euros depending on the day.
✨Rentals✨
For rentals, I decided to fly all my gear with me so I could save extra money.
✨Accommodations✨
For 4 nights, it was 444 euros so about $470 USD which came out to about $118/night.
✨Meals✨
Since I had a kitchen, I cooked most of my meals at home and made sandwiches to take up with me on the mountain for lunch which in total, probably costs me about $50 USD in groceries.
✨Transportation✨
There are multiple ski bus companies but the one I took was Swiss Tours and only cost me $11 back in Dec 2024. For 2026, it’s now $15 USD.
✨Flight✨
I saved enough credit card points and treated myself to business class on Air France for only 50,000 points one way.
I flew from Los Angeles to Geneva with a small layover in Paris. Even though I booked the flight on points, Air France does pass on their taxes and fuel surcharges so I still had to pay around $245.
✨Return Flight✨
For my return flight, I wasn’t going back home but I was flying off to Finland and that ticket only cost me 7,500 Alaska miles and about $57 ($56.30) in taxes and fees.
If you don’t want to fly business, you can find flights in economy for as little as 20,000 points if you are flying from LA.
✨Total✨
To get to Chamonix, spend 4 nights over the Christmas holiday, and to snowboard cost me around $900 and 57,500 miles.

Welcome back to my Solo Series and tonight, we are off to the hottest new restaurant in Las Vegas: Carbone Riviera
I’ve been wanting to try the Carbone inside the Aria for years but reservations are always so hard to come by and also, I’m not the biggest pasta person either.
But when I heard that Carbone was opening up a seafood-centric version of their restaurant, along with having a view of the Bellagio fountains, I knew I had to go try this one out.
The best part is that I snagged a seat outside on their patio with a front row view!
* Champagne, Laurent-Perrier, La Cuvée ($28): Since this was a solo date, I decided to treat myself to a glass of champagne to get this dinner started!
* Chardonnay, Failla, Sonoma Coast 2023 ($26): I love Sonoma chardonnays so this was kind of a no-brainer. I wanted a good white wine to go with my pasta.
* Lightly Grilled Chu Toro ($40): Amazing! Definitely worth the money. Not a lot of people talk about it on Yelp or Google but I loved this dish.
* Beef Carpaccio Piemontese ($36): I originally wanted to get the clams casino but my server said that the portion was huge for one person so he suggest the beef carpaccio instead and it was fantastic! If you love truffle, this is the dish for you!
* Capellini Crab AOP ($46): To be honest, I was expecting more and I LOVE crab. I was hoping that it would be a better version of clams linguine but it just felt like the skinny noodles were too much.
* Total ($176): Wow! I got surprisingly close to the $175 minimum didn’t I? I knew I needed at least make the minimum but I didn’t think I would actually be close.

Got the chance to try the most anticipated restaurant, Carbone Riviera. To be honest, reservations are not easy and it does take a little bit of planning, but here are my tips below to help you out!
1. Book on Seven Rooms rather than Resy. There seems to be a lot more openings on Seven Rooms for some reason.
2. If should book at least 5-6 weeks in advance if you want a specific table, view, time.
3. If you’re last-minute booking (like I did), sign up for notifications. That’s how I got my reservation. Granted I was booking for dinner around 10:00 pm so availability might be better then.
4. The day before… I stopped by the front desk to see if I could change my reservation to when it first opens. They said yes! I also requested to be on the patio. They said yes but there is a minimum.
5. The minimum spend to sit on their patio is $175/person.
6. For the girlies, you may wonder if it’s cold outside. I brought a jacket in case but their heaters were fantastic and I didn’t even need to wear my jacket as you can tell by the video.
7. I wanted an earlier seating because I actually ended up having plans later on the night but also, I know if you have the earlier seating, you have a better chance of getting a better table 💕

We are at the Bellagio Las Vegas and I’m loving all the benefits that you get through Amex’s Fine Hotels and Resorts program!
✨Room Cost: $29.88
My rate for my room only cost me $135.14. We have $105.26 leftover from the Wynn so I had to pay an extra $29.88 for the room.
✨$100 Food & Beverage Credit✨
I wanted to specifically stay at the Bellagio because I wanted to use the F&B credit at Carbone Riviera which is Las Vegas’ newest restaurant!
✨$60 Breakfast Credit✨
For the breakfast credit, you get $60 to spend between two people, but since I’m by myself, I spent it all on me. The great thing about the Bellagio is that some of their restaurants continue until lunch time. So I made a 2:30 reservation at Spago and went for their brunch!
✨Room Upgrade✨
For the room upgrade, I was lucky enough to get a Fountain View King room! I did have to ask though. It wasn’t automatic.
✨Resort Fee: $5 wifi credit✨
For the resort fee, unfortunately is not included and has to be paid separately at the hotel but at least you get $5 off due to the wifi credit.
So if I were to do the math, I would only have to paid roughly $30 plus the resort fee of $50 + tax to get a free room with a fountain view, $100 F&B credit, $60 breakfast credit, and 4:00 pm late check-out!
Between staying at the Wynn and Bellagio through Amex’s FHR program, this must have been the most luxurious solo Vegas vacation I’ve had yet!

I wouldn’t even have known that they even made this drink until someone recommended it to me.
This is also the same bar where you can get the Insta-famous martini in an ice block.
Seriously, this place is becoming one of my favorite bars in all of Vegas. The staff is amazing (shout out to Mario) and the drinks are FANTASTIC.

As one of the Fine Hotel and Resort benefits, the Wynn doesn’t give you the usual $100 F&B credit like at other properties. But instead, gives you $150 spa credit to use at the Wynn or Encore spa!
✨$60 Breakfast Credit✨
For the breakfast credit, you get $60 to spend between two people, but since I’m by myself, I spent it all on me.
Also, the Wynn Las Vegas is one of the few properties that allows you to use the breakfast credit on room service!
✨$25 Welcome Amenity✨
The special thing about the Wynn is that they give you an extra $25 welcome credit that you can use on the mini bar or for a drink at one of their bars.
This is not advertise on the FHR website and was seriously a nice surprise since we don’t get any F&B credit here.
I love when hotels surprise you with little things like this!
✨Room Upgrade✨
For the room upgrade, you get to stay in one of their Panoramic rooms which are just rooms on the 28th floor and above. The room itself is the same but at least you get this amazing view!
✨Resort Fee: $5 wifi credit✨
For the resort fee, unfortunately is not included and has to be paid separately at the hotel but at least you get $5 off due to the wifi credit.
So if I were to do the math, I would only have to paid the resort fee of $50 + tax to get a free room with a view upgrade, $150 spa credit, $60 breakfast credit, $25 welcome credit! That’s over $400 is savings!

I’ve always been a big fan of Chef José Andrés and have been to his other restaurants like The Bazaar and Bazaar Meat. Now that he has a seafood based restaurant, I knew I had to go check it out!

For the meal, I ordered the Bazaar Mar Delight Tasting Menu ($130) and a glass of white wine for ($17). Everything was DELICIOUS but I unfortunately the “solo” tax did com out to play.
On the menu, it says that you are supposed to get the crab paella and the Wagyu steak. But apparently, since I’m a solo diner, I only am allowed to choose one 😢.
Which is understandable since the portion was huge (obviously for 2+ people) but I’m still sad I didn’t get to try the whole menu. Also, sad that they didn’t tell me until it was time for the entree. Oh well… C’est la vie for a single person I guess.
The crab paella was my favorite dish of the night and I would definitely come back just for that. Totally get a glass of the white wine and the paella!
