There’s no one way to get better on guitar. It’s usually a combination of things at the same time. Connecting triads with scales is a perfect example of this. Triads are the basic building blocks of chords, the root, 3rd, and 5th, so playing them directly emphasizes the chord currently being played in the song. Use notes from the scale to smoothly connect one triad shape to another. In this video I’ll show you how to improvise over a minor chord progression using this technique Enjoy the full video at YouTube/JerryCherryBand and have a great week Everybody 🎸😊
I believe that learning to hear major, minor, and dominant chords and scales may be the most important things you can do to improve your guitar playing. In this video I’ll show you the D chord, and the D major scale. The Dm chord and the D minor scale. Last but not least the D7 chord and the D Mixolydian mode “Dominant scale.” I also show all three chord families. All three of these chord, scales all have the same root note “D.” Three completely different sounds yet so closely related. Good news is that you can do this with any chord. Enjoy the full video at YouTube/JerryCherryBand and have a great weekend Everybody 🎸😊
Happy New Year Cherries! Let’s play more guitar this year 🎸😊 I’m going to you show a great framework that puts your hand in position to play a mean blues solo. Enjoy the full video at YouTube/JerryCherryBand and have a Happy, and Healthy New Year Everybody 🥳
In this video I’m going to show you How to Play The 5 Patterns of The Major Scale Over a 1-4-5 Progression. Enjoy the full video at YouTube/JerryCherryBand and have a great holiday weekend Everybody ❤️
The Magic of 5. With this system I’ll show you a great way to play the Major Scale all across the fretboard using 5 Major Scale patterns that relate to the CAGED System. Playing the major scale around the CAGED system involves mapping five distinct scale shapes over corresponding C, A, G, E, and D open chord forms, allowing for full fretboard navigation in any key. Enjoy the full video at YouTube/JerryCherryBand and have a great weekend Everybody 😊🎸
When playing a Major 1-4-5 progression you can use 3 different Pentatonic Scales, 1 for each chord. Use the Major Pentatonic of the 1 chord, then shift to the Major Pentatonic of the 4 chord, and finally to the Major Pentatonic of the 5 chord. This scale gives you two more notes outside of the chord tones. The 2nd and 6th degrees of each chord. Highlight the scales individually along with targeting the chord tones. Enjoy the full video at YouTube/JerryCherryBand and have a great weekend Everybody 🎸❤️
An arpeggio is a broken chord where the notes are played one after another instead of at the same time, creating a “rippling” or “harp-like” sound. In this video I’ll show you how to play over a 1-4-5 progression across the fretboard with arpeggios outlining chords from the CAGED System. Enjoy the full video at YouTube/JerryCherryBand and have a great week Everybody 🎸
Hello Cherries! If there is one system out there that creates a framework for seeing the full guitar fretboard and systematically organizing what you can play it’s the CAGED System. You can play any chord using these 5 shapes that revolve over and over. In this video I teach this using the most popular chord progression in music, 1-4-5. Imaging playing your favorite chord progression in one area and soloing over it. You can do that in 5 different positions giving you the ultimate freedom to play up and down the neck. All these shapes are meant to be altered. Master the fretboard and have fun with this. Enjoy the full video at YouTube/JerryCherryBand and have a great weekend Everybody.
To effectively solo over a minor blues progression, use the minor pentatonic scale, target chord tones by emphasizing the roots of the i, iv, and V chords, use triads, arpeggios, apply stylistic techniques like call and response, phrasing, and make it sad. I’ll show you 5 Ways to approach Soloing Over a Minor Blues Progression. Enjoy the full video at YouTube/JerryCherryBand and have a great week everybody 😄🎸
