Everyone goes to Naples for pizza, but some of the city’s best food isn’t pizza at all!

From pastries and incredible pasta dishes to iconic street food, there are so many incredible Neapolitan foods that most visitors never get to try.

If you’re planning a trip to Naples, I’ve put together a full food tour packed with even more local dishes, hidden gems and plenty of recommendations.

What do Italians eat at weddings? 🇮🇹✨

I recently attended one of my best friend’s weddings in Tuscany and let’s just say I didn’t leave hungry.

The bride also happens to be the co-founder of, helping couples from around the world plan their dream wedding in Italy, so every detail was absolutely spot on.

Would you say yes to this menu? 🍝🍷🍦

Sardinian Bites Ep. 9: Mazza Frissa 🍯

Funny enough, I discovered this dish in a London restaurant that specialises in Italian regional cuisine, and I instantly fell in love with it.

Ingredients:
• 300ml double cream
• 60g fine semolina
• Honey (or truffle honey)
• Pecorino cheese (optional)

Method:
Bring the cream to a gentle boil. Slowly pour in the semolina while whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens into a smooth, porridge-like texture.

Remove from the heat and serve with honey, pecorino, or both. I topped mine with truffle honey and served it alongside some pane carasau.

Alternatively, skip the honey and use it as a pasta sauce instead.

Buon appetito!

Comment HEALTHY and I’ll send you the full video 🇮🇹

A lot of people think Italian food is heavy, unhealthy and full of carbs… but after living abroad for almost 10 years, I’ve come to realise that many people have a very different idea of what Italian food actually looks like.

In this video, I talk about why Italian food isn’t as heavy as people think, and some of the habits that make the Italian way of eating surprisingly easy to sustain.

Some of them are so normal in Italy that we barely notice them until we move abroad!
Sardinian Bites, Ep. 8: Sausage, Mushroom & Saffron Fregola ✨

A savoury alternative to introduce you to fregola sarda, one of Sardinia’s most beloved pasta shapes. We make it in countless different ways across the island, but this combination of sausage, mushrooms and saffron is definitely one of my favourites.

Ingredients (2 generous portions):
• 200g fregola sarda
• 2 Italian sausages, casing removed
• 250g mixed mushrooms (I used shiitake and mixed mushrooms)
• 1 garlic clove
• 1 sachet saffron
• Extra virgin olive oil
• Pecorino Romano
• Salt and pepper

Method:
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and dissolve the saffron in the cooking water.

Meanwhile, sauté the garlic in olive oil, add the sausage meat and break it up with a spoon. Once browned, add the mushrooms and cook until softened and golden.

Cook the fregola until al dente, then transfer it directly to the pan with the sausage and mushrooms, adding a little of the saffron cooking water as needed. Toss everything together until creamy, then finish with plenty of Pecorino Romano.

Comfort food at its finest ❤️ have you ever tried it?

24 hours in Villasimius 🌞🏝️

My summer has officially started and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick it off!

I’m lucky enough to have one of my best friends with a house in Villasimius, which means I’ve been spending more and more time exploring this corner of Sardinia over the last few years. I’m still getting to know the area, but hopefully I’ll be able to share some of my favourite spots with you as I discover more.

Over these 24 hours, we visited Porto Giunco and Cala Santo Stefano. The weather turned a little cloudy both afternoons, but luckily both beaches were quite sheltered, so we still had a lovely time.

Special mention goes to Gelateria “Da Beppe” in the centre of Villasimius. We picked up a tub of gelato for dinner and it absolutely did not disappoint!

Sardinian Bites Ep. 7: Sa Costedda 🍅

If coccoi e corcoriga had a cousin, it would probably be this. Sa Costedda is a tomato flatbread from Villasimius, in the south of Sardinia, and if you’ve been following this series for a while, you might recognise some similarities with a previous recipe I’ve shared. (And if you haven’t seen that one yet, here’s your sign to go find it 👀)

Ingredients:
• 500g ripe tomatoes, diced
• 150g semola rimacinata
• 120g plain flour
• 10g fresh yeast
• 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
• A handful of fresh basil
• Extra virgin olive oil
• Salt

Method:
Mix the tomatoes, garlic, basil, olive oil and salt in a bowl. Add the flours and yeast, then mix until you have a wet, sticky dough. Cover and let it rest until slightly risen. Transfer to a well-oiled baking tray, spread it out gently with your hands and bake until golden around the edges and crispy on top.

Buon appetito ❤️
A dish that combines two regions in one recipe 🇮🇹

Ep. 6 of Sardinian Bites: Pasta alla Carlofortina, one of the best examples of how Sardinian cuisine has been influenced by Ligurian traditions over the centuries!

Ingredients (2 portions):
• 200g fresh trofie
• 200g fresh tuna, cut into chunks (not the canned one)
• 200g cherry tomatoes, halved
• 2 tbsp pesto (ideally homemade or from an artisanal deli, I wouldn’t recommend a supermarket one)
• ½ small onion, very finely sliced
• Extra virgin olive oil
• Fresh basil

Method:
Start by gently sautéing the onion in olive oil until soft. Add the fresh tuna and cook it briefly - you want it lightly seared, not overcooked.

Add the cherry tomatoes and let everything cook together while your pasta boils. Once the trofie are ready, transfer them into the pan and mix everything together.

Turn the heat off before adding the pesto so it keeps its fresh flavour, then finish with some basil on top. ❤️
