2016 was indeed a life changing year for me. But I dont believe 2026 is the new 2016 🤣 Its much much much better in many ways ❤️
1. Believe it or not, I got into one of the top Universities in Bangalore and was still doubtful to join because I used to think it shouldn’t be a burden for my parents to pay the fee for my masters degree. Not because they were not able to, but because I didn’t want them to. I was still in my 6th sem of bachelors when I attended the entrance exam for Christ, and was also the topper of my batch for which I was given back the college fee as scholarship amount. The moment my dad got to know that I was selected to Christ, there was no turning back.
2.I was part of a photoshoot gig where we used to handle all behind the scenes stuff and also click pictures to make some pocket money. That was also the year of me experimenting with my haircuts.
3.The Bhasha Utsav, one of the most celebrated event at Christ, we as MAMCS (Media and Communication Studies) students were covering the whole event as different groups to come up with a newsletter.
4. It is also the year I turned 20 and was feeling old.
5 & 6. Chickpet used to be one of the most visited places for our photography assignments, street photography and this was clicked on one such days.
7 & 8. After the first semester, we were supposed to do a print or broadcast journalism internship for a month. I chose to do it in Prajavani, a Kannada newspaper only and only because I wanted my parents to read and understand what I wrote, and 11 of my articles were published in Bangalore edition.
9, 10, 11 & 12.I picked up Photography as an interest in 2014 and it became more serious in 2016 with photojournalism being one of the subjects in masters, I was also part of the in house media team that covered the JAMBOREE of scouts and guides in Mysore, 2016 December.
13. And it is also the year I met my best friends who are still my best friends ❤️

This Sankranthi is all the more special, with a tiny human growing inside me ☺️ May this Sankranthi bring you peace, happiness, health and abundance this year.
Back then festivals were all about getting excited for a new dress and eating ellu bella. Only after I got married and started our life from the scratch we realised how much joy it brings in celebrating every festival. From eating ellu bella made by amma to making sure to make it myself for the last couple of years because Darshu loves it (I love the smell of it), it shows how I am enjoying the process of it. Now it doesn’t bother me if I get a new dress for Habba or not, it’s all about what values we hold on to and try to practice the same.
From struggling to find flowers for pooje and all the ingredients needed for ellu bella in my first year of moving to Dubai, I now easily get everything needed to do the same ✨
Life goes on in its own pace. Whatever has to happen will happen when the time is right.
Hope you all have a wonderful day and a year ahead. With or without ellu bella, with or without new dress, make sure to give yourself all the love you deserve ❤️
