โ๏ธ๐งถBut in all seriousness, When the cold sets in thereโs something in me that reaches for those ancient fabrics - wool & linen. These fibers made winter possible. These pieces connect me to the past, to the ancestors. Winter has a special sort of feeling, like old world wisdom being handed down in these fibers from the weavers & waulking women.
๐จ๏ธ In winter, I love layering up with wool shawls, sturdy boots, & linen dresses as if Iโm about to go out and collect firewood to burn on the hearth (I donโt have a hearth nor a fireplace), but putting all these on just hits different in winter. Itโs the season where I feel most in tune with that ancient sort of feeling (and maybe also in spring when you can smell that fresh damp earth, fertile soil sort of smell)

The day I set out to take these photos, I had no plans & no concept in mind. I just threw a few props in my bookbag, walked down to my favorite nature trails, set up my tripod and then the magic happened.
It was a bit of a cloudy day but during this photo set, with a little help from the natural lighting & a little magic created in post editing, the beams of light turned out in just the right spot!
I am so happy that a idea on a whim turned out so magical!
So, whenever the moment seizes you, just know you do not have to have a specific concept in mind. Just throw on your favorite outfit, grab your camera, & make magic!
