We spent some time at Dog Bar SRQ, and it’s one of those places that really gets it — a downtown Sarasota spot designed for dogs and the people who love them. Relaxed, spacious, and way more than just a dog bar.

I discovered so many of these restaurants while attending Taste of the Bay — an annual event that happens every October — but the best part is that these are all locally owned places you can enjoy year-round. My list of places to visit (and revisit) just keeps getting longer.
Huge credit to Sarasota-Manatee Originals for continuing to support and showcase independent restaurants throughout Sarasota — they truly know our food scene. And shoutout to and everyone involved for making it such a great turnout.
Set at The Bay Sarasota, it was the perfect backdrop for discovering new favorites. Already looking forward to October — and seeing how many of these spots I can check off my list before then.
