🌵 Distance: 8 miles one way to campground (depending on where you parked! We had to hike another mile and a half)
☁️ Elevation gain: 1,200 feet descent (then back up!)

🚗 Parking situation: Hualapai Hilltop parking area! Get there early as it fills up. FREE parking but you’ll need reservations and permits ($450+ per person) booked months in advance through the Havasupai Tribe. We won our permits in Feb!
🎒 What to bring: Camping gear, LOTS of water (or water purification), headlamp, sturdy hiking boots, first aid kit, sunscreen, hat, food/snacks for 3+ days, cash for helicopter rides if needed, etc.
🐎 What to expect along the trail: The hike starts with a steep descent through red rock desert terrain. You’ll pass through the village of Supai (only place in US where mail is delivered by mule!). The trail can be dusty and rocky so watch your footing. Pack animals use this trail so watch for mule trains. The last 2 miles to the campground are the most challenging IMO it just feels like it’s never ending lol
💙 What to expect at the destination: The most incredible turquoise waterfalls you’ve ever seen! Havasu Falls, Mooney Falls, and Beaver Falls are absolutely magical. The biggest surprise falls were 50 ft falls. The contrast of bright blue water against red rock is surreal and worth every step!!

I’ve been sitting on SO many stories from past adventures because I felt like I “should’ve” shared them in real time. But then I made this little chalkboard.
