📸 President Teddy Roosevelt called this amazing waterfall the 8th wonder of the world when he first visited in the early 1900s. Known for its constant year long flow, it’s 129 feet tall and fed by underground spring water that seeps through volcanic rock.
Here’s what you need to know in order to visit! 👇
📍 Burney Falls in McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park
🗓️ Open year-round (although you may run into snow in the winter)
🥾 Trail details: 1.1 mile loop with 170 ft elevation gain
🚗 3.5 hour drive from Sacramento or ~5 hour drive from San Francisco
Other nearby attractions: McCloud Falls, Mt. Shasta and Lassen National Park (to name just a few must-sees!)
🌅 Other tips: Visit in the early morning or just before sunset for your best chance of enjoying the falls without the crowds AND watch out for river otters swimming in the pool below the falls! 🥹

🗺️ This is the perfect 10 day itinerary for an Australia trip that flies in and out of Melbourne. The focus of this trip is nature and wildlife! If you’re more into city vibes, consider spending more time in Melbourne and less time in Wilsons Prom.
🚐 We’d recommend renting a camper van for the Great Ocean Road portion of this trip and then switching to a regular rental car. The van will give you flexibility to stay in a new place each night!
☀️ This road trip is best done in the late spring, summer or early fall for the best weather! It’s summer in Australia right now (the perfect time to visit).

🌁 We are 9-5ers and millenials living in the San Francisco Bay Area with our 8-month mini aussie puppy, Olive.
🌃 We first met while living in Chicago but moved to San Francisco in 2021 to be closer to family and to live a more outdoorsy lifestlye.
🦬 In 2020, we visited our first national park together (Yellowstone), went on our first camping trip and ski trip together and started hiking on the weekends while staying with family in Arizona. We definitely caught the outdoor adventure bug in 2020, and since then are obsessed with checking national parks off our list, hiking and car camping!
🗺️ We got married in 2022 in Big Sur (check us out in photo 2 running down Highway 1) and honeymooned on the Amalfi Coast. We love travelling internationally and try to do at least a couple international trips a year!
🇳🇿 Our favorite country we’ve visited to date is New Zealand. We’ve actually gone back two years in a row around Thanksgiving because there was so much we couldn’t fit in but wanted to see on our first trip!
🥾 When we aren’t traveling internationally or visiting national parks, you can usually find us exploring Northern California! We rarely spend a weekend indoors and love to take day trips to nearby towns, check out new trails etc.
🌅 The best way to describe our travel style would be... busy. We get travel FOMO and want to see it all. We usually aren’t missing a sunrise or a sunset on our trips. We are extremely detailed with our trip planning and excited to share more about how to get the most out of your vacation time.
