Ayer celebrábamos los 55 años del album Revolver, hoy celebramos los 56 años del album Help!
Así es, por que un 06 de agosto del año 1965 se lanza el quinto álbum de estudio de los Beatles, que al mismo tiempo fue la banda sonora de su película de mismo título. Producido por George Martin para el sello discográfico subsidiario de EMI, Parlophone, el disco tiene catorce canciones en su forma británica original, de las cuales siete aparecieron en la película Help!
Estas siete canciones ocuparon el primer lado del álbum de vinilo. El segundo lado contuvo otras siete canciones que incluía el tema más versionado jamás escrito... "Yesterday".

¡50 años de Concert for Bangladesh!
Hoy 01 de agosto de 1971 fue realizado este magno evento.
“The Concert for Bangladesh” es un triple álbum en directo de George Harrison y otras celebridades musicales, publicado por Apple Records en diciembre de 1971 en los Estados Unidos y en enero de 1972 en el Reino Unido.
El álbum incluye canciones grabadas durante dos conciertos organizados en el Madison Square Garden de Nueva York con fines benéficos, e incluyó la participación de músicos como Bob Dylan, Ravi Shankar, Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, Leon Russell y Eric Clapton, entre otros.
La semilla la plantó Ravi Shankar, el ya fallecido músico indio, virtuoso del sitar, conocido mundialmente. “Fue a principios de Abril de 1971 cuando me llegaron las noticias sobre una crisis humanitaria en mi tierra natal de Bengala” decía en un comunicado de prensa. “Mi corazón estaba con mi gente y era natural que quisiera ayudar a los refugiados y a cientos de miles de niños”
La tierra natal del músico (que entonces se conocía como Pakistán Este) sufría los efectos de las inundaciones, de la hambruna y de una cruenta guerra civil que buscaba la independencia y que había provocado millones de muertos. Miles de refugiados bengalíes estaban siendo represaliados en ese conflicto armado entre Pakistán e India.
Para George fue un deber a su amigo y a toda su gente.
