Der KURT-HÜBNER-PREIS der Bremer Theaterfreunde geht in diesem Jahr an die Leitende Dramaturgin im Musiktheater, Frederike Krüger. Den MICHAEL-BÖRGERDING-NACHWUCHSPREIS erhält der Tenor Ian Spinetti.
Mit großer Freude verleiht die Jury den Kurt-Hübner-Preis 2026 an Frederike Krüger. Besonders würdigt sie ihre prägende dramaturgische Arbeit am Theater Bremen. Mit analytischer Präzision, umfassender Kenntnis des Musiktheaters und einem feinen Gespür für gesellschaftliche Zusammenhänge eröffnet sie neue Perspektiven auf bekannte Werke und schafft Räume für lebendige Auseinandersetzungen. Ob bei SISSY, MADAMA BUTTERFLY, DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, LA CLEMENZA DI TITO oder DOCTOR ATOMIC – ihre Arbeit verbindet inhaltliche Tiefe mit kommunikativer Offenheit und prägt das Musiktheater des Theater Bremen nachhaltig. Als erste Dramaturgin überhaupt erhält sie damit die Auszeichnung. Seit dieser Spielzeit gehört sie dem Künstlerischen Leitungsteam an und gestaltet die künstlerische Entwicklung des Hauses auch zukünftig maßgeblich mit.
Mit dem Michael-Börgerding-Nachwuchspreis zeichnet die Jury den Tenor Ian Spinetti aus. Seit seinem Eintritt ins Musiktheaterensemble hat er sich zu einer unverwechselbaren jungen Stimme des Hauses entwickelt. Die Jury hebt seine musikalische Qualität, stilistische Vielseitigkeit und bemerkenswerte Bühnenpräsenz hervor. Zuletzt begeisterte er als Tamino in DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE, zuvor als Aeneas in DIDO AND AENEAS sowie als Pinkerton in MADAMA BUTTERFLY. Seine Darstellungen zeichnen sich durch große Spielfreude, Musikalität und emotionale Glaubwürdigkeit aus.
Die Preisverleihung findet am Montag, 29. Juni, um 20 Uhr im Kleinen Haus statt. Der Eintritt ist frei, Zählkarten sind an der Theaterkasse erhältlich.

Die „Bad Bugs“ (die „bösen Käfer“) wollen ihrem schleichenden Untergang etwas entgegensetzen. Mit ihrer gleichnamigen Band reisen sie durch die Lande und kämpfen mit harter Schale, aber einem durchaus weichen Kern gegen die Vernichtung ihrer Lebensräume. Ausgestattet mit Synthesizern, E-Gitarren und ihrer Stimme samplen sie auf öffentlichen Plätzen den eigenwilligen Underground-Sound der Käferwelt und präsentieren uns musikalisch und aktionistisch ihre Sicht der Dinge.
