AD | Sundays are a great day for catching up on the chores I’ve been neglecting. When I get home from a ride I need to prep my bike tech for the next one and catch up on the never ending laundry cycling creates.

With PeakSave, I get half price electricity between 11-4pm, which gives me extra motivation to get it done before I lose the rest of the day to the sofa.

If you want to save some money with sign up for #PeakSave. I’ll pop the link in my bio.

Don’t mind me I’ll be waltzing through my indoor workouts for the foreseeable.
The Tacx Alpine Gradient Simulator replicates the elevation of real world climbing making indoor workouts feel a lot more realistic. It pairs to the Tacx Neo 3M Smart Trainer via Bluetooth and will ascend and descend automatically adjusting the gradient of your indoor session. What a time to be alive.
Would you like to add this to your indoor setup?

AD| Excited and terrified for my new indoor training setup from
It includes the Tacx Alpine Gradient Simulator that rises to the heavens - which will be excellent prep for mountain climbing.
Paired with the Tacx Neo3M, which comes with built in motion plates and a host of features to give a more realistic ride feel and accurate power measurement I’m ready to lock in on some indoor riding.
I don’t have tons of floor space but the Alpine, slots neatly in the corner and the trainer folds away between my bikes.
I think indoor training is helpful for maintaining consistency but it definitely feels harder than riding outside with the wind in your face - and not just sweat.
What do you think? What else would you add to make it the perfect setup? Share your tips in the comments.

Donna's journey into cycling is conventional in some ways, riding for transport as a means to an end. But on the other side, her experience has been anything but smooth, facing exclusion on the grounds of race, age, size and even style.

This is a really beautiful episode and one I thoroughly enjoyed, bonding with Donna over my own Jamaican heritage. If you've got 45 mins, please give it a listen.

Available on Spotify, YouTube and anywhere else you listen. Thanks again to

Everything but the bike.
Scenes from a bike free week. A bit of running, spinning and shopping. I guess it’s indoor trainer time because I’m not built for cold like this.

FYI: Insta suggested the audio. Chef’s kiss.

My favourite photo of 2025.

Flying through the Docklands at T100. The strength is back in my body, my braids are dancing and so are my feet on the pedals. I’ve risen from the ashes of perimenopause and am feeling strong and joyful.
When you’re in the trenches of midlife it’s sometimes hard to see your way out. But you will make it out if you take it day by day and nourish your body, not berate it, strengthen it by lifting weights, not running it into the ground, and rest like it’s a competitive activity. Pour into those that pour into you and learn to protect your energy.
There were many amazing moments and privately tough moments. My mum survived a heart attack, my cousin who was two years younger than me didn’t. So many losses this year.
I’m grateful to have this active life to put my energy into.
2025 is the year I became a brand ambassador at the age of 56 making me an anomaly in the cycling content creator community. I’ve done some great work with Balfes, Rapha, Patta, and Skoda. Went on brand trips to the Tour de Femmes and The Tour de France which were dreams come true.
Finally touched down in beautiful South Africa - with - a country I’ve wanted to visit for years and it didn’t disappoint. Cape Town and the people were epic. Best post ride party ever! IYKYK.
Enjoyed great summer rides with the family and and visited Mallorca for the first time.
Life really began again at 50.
I’m proud to stand alongside women over 40 who are out here doing multiple Ironmans, riding strong, and running world major marathons. Here’s a few I know. I’m saying over 40 cos I don’t know all their ages 😄

Thanks for all your support this year. And all the people and communities that have supported me to do this stuff.

See you on the other side HNY 🥳

I choose cycling. And so should you.
I started many years ago on my aunt’s discarded bike. And I never really stopped. It has everything - fun, coffee, cake, great views and great people. Your health will benefit and it will open up the world to you in new ways.
I’m 57 next year and I plan to ride a lot more. It’s definitely hard at times - it’s taken me five years to get comfortable with hilly routes. But I go uphill now and enjoy it.
So if you’re looking for a new hobby trust me buy the bike.

I definitely find it a struggle to leave my warm bed to ride when it’s zero degree weather but the promise of some sunshine helps.
I did prep my clothes the night before and laid out my snacks. Charged everything. Almost everything. But still ended up rushing to meet Lisa at The Clubhouse.
If I made it before her was I even late?

Ride your bike it will take you to beautiful and unexpected places.
Like a shoot for the new RAPHA x PATTA collection. Me. 56 year old me.
The kit is beautiful and I want every piece.
I got to spend the day with some very cool people as we rode around a very hot London together.
It was literally 10-year-old me with my mates from the estate who were not supposed to leave the block but ended up in the West End.
The Patta Cycling Team, Gee, Kwame and Eeva is building community through cycling..And part of that is riding ‘All for the love of it’.
Every ride doesn’t have to be Tour de France coded sometimes just ride for a good cinnamon bun. To catch up with a friend. To feel the sun on your face.
No talk of watts per kilo, no efforts, just enjoying the ride.

This one’s for the big batty girls everywhere.

I’d love to see more women of colour, and more women of all ages, sizes and abilities, get involved in cycling.

There are so many different ways to enjoy riding a bike - you’re in control, and you can choose exactly how you want to do it.

I've overcome anxieties over the speed of rides, how steep the climbs were, and at times I’ve felt self-conscious. But I enjoy cycling so much, even the hard bits, that I just keep pushing through.
With my club Chain Gang Cyclists, I’ve ridden many roads in the UK and abroad taking on challenges I initially doubted I would be capable of.

Laka bike insurance was recommended to me and I’ve had a great experience with them over the last few years Ultimately when I’m on the road I know both me and my bike are well looked after.

Do it scared and unprepared, you will build your confidence as you build your miles. And always feel free to ask questions, there’s nothing more us cyclists like than talking bikes.
