What a year! I’m honestly so grateful for the amazing students and families I’ve been so lucky to work with. Thank you for your trust, support, and for being such a big part of this journey.

I still can’t quite believe how far things have come, from leaving a long-term corporate career in London (that was a dream in itself!), to building this studio from scratch. It’s been full-on, but so worth it. I’ve worked flat out to devise fun, engaging and effective programmes, build a real sense of community, and create experiences that feel meaningful for my students (and for me too) 🥰

One of my biggest dreams was to bring the joy of music into a care home, and seeing that become a reality has been incredibly special. I’m grateful to the families who also value connection across generations and support this important work 🤍

Watching students grow, gain confidence, earn Merits and Distinctions, shine at music festivals and surprise themselves has been the most rewarding part of it all 🎶

And winning Best Start-Up in Bromley still feels surreal 🏆

I also have soooo much happening behind the scenes, I’m brimming with ideas, and can’t wait to roll it all out next year 👀

So grateful. And excited to see where 2026 takes us 💫

Happy New Year everyone 🥂✨

Edit: Fgs not sure why the pics have come up dark?😅🤷🏻‍♀️Anyone else finding Insta still so glitchy and fiddly?

Paint colours, the most asked question... I received several questions about the paint colour in the master bedroom from my recent post. The wall colour is Silver Birch by Neptune, paired with Driftwood for the paneling. Yes, I tested like 100+ paint samples to choose the one colour 🫠I’ve had these colours for a while now, and if I had the energy…😂, I’d consider pairing it with another shade.
Hope it’s sunny where you are. It rained with thunderstorm last night—came out of nowhere! 💛

Are you Team Neutral or Team colours? Which do you prefer for home decor?
JULY-ING 🌿 Here’s a quick roundup of July…it was a busy month as I took a break from screens and focused on real life. I spent a lot of time cycling and walking around London and Kent, discovering new places, including a surprising lavender field in the middle of London. I also enjoyed swimming at Charlton Lido—London’s outdoor pools are fantastic. It rained a lot, too! Here’s to August! Really looking forward to our upcoming holiday ☀️
Spent aaaages editing this reel and forgot how glitchy the editor is 😫 So, here’s a mish-mash of highlights 🤷🏻‍♀️😅 Have a lovely evening everyone 💛 xx

It’s Transformation Tuesday! Here’s a quick look at how each room has been transformed. I still have to pinch myself every day to believe how far I’ve come - I’m incredibly grateful for everything we have. I viewed this house, which was a complete wreck, twice before making the somewhat crazy decision to transform it into a home for me and my two boys. Everyone absolutely hated it, without appreciating the positives it had to offer (and there were many things I loved about it!), even those who were polite enough not to say anything, I could tell from their faces they weren’t impressed 😅🤷🏻‍♀️ I had to justify, defend and explain my decision over and over again to the point I just stopped inviting people over, as I couldn’t handle the unkind comments. True story. When buying a fixer-upper, you need vision, patience, and a lot of self-belief.
Love this tune - might practice on the piano tonight 🎹🥰
How hot is it out there? 🥵 I have a lot to catch up on here after a long, unplanned Instagram break. I'll be browsing through your lovely posts and messages 💛

Evening! Quick Transformation Tuesday on the landing. The 'before' pic was taken on viewing day, on a very hot summer day yet see how dark and gloomy it looked. I'll never forget the overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke 😷 The condition was already dilapidated, everything drenched in nicotine. All the windows along the stairs were single-glazed with cracks. I was not put off by it all, made an offer the next day.
I’ve lost a bit of momentum with posting, but I’m keen to get back into it. I’ve been busy with my new business and enjoying cycling and getting fit again. Cycled to the today, one of the largest in the world, with displays over 200 items, including Magna Carta and handwritten lyrics by the Beatles. Worth a visit if you’re in London.
Next project: replacing the garage doors and giving it a makeover. Watch this space.
I’ve just finished watching Tokyo Vice. Have you seen it? Soooo good!

Morning, I had a flurry of new followers so wanted to reintroduce myself and my home journey as I often get asked how I manage to own and renovate a property in London solo. It’s not easy at all! I’ve always invested in fixer uppers as there’s more wiggle room to really maximise their value. My ex husband and I flipped our first property on a very tight budget. We unfortunately got divorced and sold it, and I took my share of the profit as a deposit for my 2nd home, combined with a large mortgage solo. I flipped it on my own on a small budget, on top of raising two kids under 3, funding for everything myself. I then sold it and the profit combined with mortgage paid to date, profit/equity from previous home and a large mortgage (solo again) formed my deposit for my current home.
It was the worst house on the best street that nobody wanted but in the perfect location. It was so run down and neglected. I could just afford the house at that time, but didn’t have enough funds for a renovation. I stretched my finances to purchase it, with the thinking “buy the shell first, worry about the reno later!”. Two years after moving in, I lost my job.
At one point the old boiler died so my boys and I had no heating and hot water for a few months until a lender was willing to lend for a new boiler. I’d boil the kettle and pour hot water into buckets mixed with cold water every day for me and the boys to bathe. Some of the windows were single glazed as well. It was very tough and depressing. Tbh it was hellish. I had several more setbacks along the way and was finally able to get the reno done in 2020. On top of this I really wanted my boys to get into a top grammar school so I coached them in the 11+ prep - the pressure was unreal. Doing it solo is daunting - you don’t have any moral support, there is no team and you have to make fast decisions on your own. Buying and renovating a house on one person’s salary, vision and energy is double the effort.
I’m so grateful and humbled for where I am now, I still can’t believe it! If you’re in a similar situation, what you get in the end is really worth it!✨
To my boys, who are my absolute world 💛
MY HOME JOURNEY 🧡
I often get asked how I got here - to own and renovate a home as a single parent in greater London, so I thought I’d share how I climbed up the property ladder. I’ve always bought fixer uppers at below market value to maximise the value add, and because that’s all I could afford! Especially around this area. I also find that older homes generally have great bones, charm, character and high ceilings. For transparency I didn’t get any “big” divorce pay out - oh how I wish that was the case 🤣 - it was quite the opposite in fact. I don’t claim benefits apart from NHS, and my kids don’t get child benefit, I’ve done and paid for everything pretty much by myself. It’s SO hard.

Consumed by guilt yet equally driven by it, I have worked tirelessly to create a home for my children, juggling a demanding career and supporting them through a superselective grammar school, all while navigating the challenges of being a single parent. Two years after moving into our current home, I was made redundant. Although I received a good severance package, things began to deteriorate. Amidst the stress of job hunting, single parenting, rebuilding my credit profile, and nearly losing our house to repossession (that was scary), I faced severe criticism and backlash for the poor condition of our home. I spiralled into bouts of depression, ultimately hitting rock bottom.

My children taught me a lot - not once they complained about the grotty house and broken bathroom or kitchen as they fully understood our situation. Yet grown adults around me made the most unkind and cruel comments about my decision to buy a ‘wreck’ instead of being supportive. My ‘wreck’ happened to be a strategic investment.

I’ve put all of this behind me now. I always thought that if I could do this (just!) then anyone can do this! If you’re renovating, decorating, a skint single mum and if you hear negative comments, it’s your home.
“A MILLION DREAMS is ALL it’s gonna take”

If you’ve made it this far, thank you (and well done😅) for your continued support on here and

To my boys, my whole world, my absolute everything 💛

Love, Emi xx
