The day before Christmas Eve, around 2:30pm at the wee green shed on Suffolk Street, a mother and son came to see us at The Barras
They’d travelled from London by train that very morning - over 5 hours - just to get crumble and custard
They could’ve gone to Borough Market, Covent Garden, stopped in Manchester or York, or visited any number of places closer to home… but they chose us
Honestly? Just wow
After a spiced pear crumble (and maybe a little top-up 😉), they headed straight back to the station to catch the train home the same day
This is the kind of crumble craziness that blows our minds and reminds us why we do what we do
