And then the trip never happened ‼️
For years, Angkor Wat stayed as a place I thought about but never reached. Life moved on, priorities changed, and time passed ⏳
Seven years later, I finally stood there. Not as the person who made that plan in 2017, but as someone who had lived more, learned more, and grown. This time, I did not come alone. I came with my wife, and sharing this moment made it feel complete in a way I never imagined back then 🌻🌻
Looking at Angkor Wat after all these years, I realized something. Some trips are delayed for a reason. Some places wait until the timing is right. And when they finally happen, they feel exactly how they should ♥️♥️
Every year, our family would take the same long 40 hour ride from Ahmedabad to Kumbakonam. That is where my obsession with trains began ♥️
Airplanes never amazed me. Cars did not matter. But trains? They were magic. Even today, when one passes, I pause… and in that split second, my entire childhood comes rushing back 🌻
My mom packed food, my dad rested on the lower berth, my sister who was my best friend back then, sat beside me by the window. We would eat, laugh, and play cards as the world rolled past. The smell of cutlets, the taste of tomato soup, the rhythm of wheels in the night. Those rides were happiness in its purest form ♥️
Time moved on. People changed. Family drifted. I lost touch. But the trains stayed. And with them, the memories. My love for trains, for nature, for simple joys was born on those journeys 🫂
Fast forward to today, from those childhood rides to now building trains for the future, I feel nothing but grateful. Grateful for the tracks that carried me here, for the life I get to live, for the reminder that the world is vast and we are small ♥️
Because every time I see a train, I pause, and I live my childhood in a second 🚃🌻

After moving to Europe, I honestly started missing those regular sunset moments… until we went to the Algarve. And wow, sunsets every day, each with a new vibe.
