âUrban Resurrectionâ responds to the wastefulness of cremation by re-introducing the circular life cycle, proposing the transformation of human flesh into fertiliser, which is casted as a memorial facade that dissolves in 10 years. This project challenges the longevity of physical memorial while celebrating temporality, with the compost memorialâs size and shape directly proportional to the passage of time and hence the fading of memory. This metaphorically forms a conversation between distinct architectural blocks and ambiguous natural build up, curated by and as a reflection of the ever-changing and unpredictable climate. As the facade coalesces into a communal commemoration, it transitions from the specific individual tribute to the ambiguous landscape of remembrance: eventually becoming nourishment for trees, as one is lost in memory. This design serves as a speculative vision to link plants, humans, and technology as vital components to each otherâs spiritual meaning, destiny, and natural life cycle.
