The Department of Social Work, Tetso College, observed World Day Against Child Labour on the theme, "Red Card to Child Labour: Fair Play for Children, Decent Work for Adults on 12 June 2026 in collaboration with CanYouth and interns from Amity University, Noida at Fellowship Missionary Ministry (FMM), Burma Camp.
The programme focused on creating awareness about child labour and promoting the rights and education of children. Mr. Jenpu Rhakho Rongmei, Founder and Chief Functionary of CanYouth, delivered an awareness speech highlighting the social impact of child labour and the collective responsibility to protect children.
Ms. Moaienla, a BSW 5th Semester student, spoke about the important role of churches, community elders, and society in discouraging child labour and supporting children’s education.
A poster awareness campaign was also conducted in the Burma Camp area, covering garages, hotels, and shops. Students and volunteers interacted with community members and employers to spread awareness about child labour and children’s rights.
