so many different worlds in just a single country 😌

oh vietnam, what a wild, beautiful country you are. from the misty mountains of Sapa, to the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, our 10 days in Vietnam showed me only a small snipped of the country—yet I fell in love already.

here’s my 10 day itinerary for those who want to see it all:

📍Sapa (3 days): one of the most beautiful, restorative places, featuring rice terraces, winding roads, and minority villages tucked into the mountains
📍Hanoi (2 days): a buzzing capital where the food alone is worth the trip
📍Ninh Binh (1 day): slow boat rides through lush karst landscapes
📍Ha Long Bay (2-3 days): limestone islands rising out of the water, best experienced overnight (and over 2 nights if possible)
📍Phong Nha (2 days): peaceful countryside and some of the most impressive caves on earth

have you been to these places before? save this for your future Asia trip 🙂

I don’t repeat hikes often, but when I do, it’s ones like this 😌👇

episode 3 of our california side quest series (bit early bc I won’t have signal tomorrow 🤫) brings us to one of my all time favorite hikes in the state. pinnacles national park might be the smallest national park in California, but it packs in some of the most unique landscapes—massive rock spires, hidden caves, and if you’re lucky, a condor soaring overhead.

the best hike there is 📍 condor gulch to high peaks loop (5.3mi, 1,600 ft gain)—an epic route that takes you through narrow rock-cut staircases, insane viewpoints, and through dark talus caves where bats sometimes nest 🦇

📝 pro tips:
1️⃣ given it’s just over 2hrs from the Bay area, parking fills up fast on the weekends—get there by 9 AM if you don’t want to take a shuttle or park far away!
2️⃣ bring a headlamp if you plan to explore the talus caves 🔦
3️⃣ this is one of the best places to spot california condors in the wild—bring your binoculars!

have you been to Pinnacles national park? share this with someone you’d go condor spotting with 🦅

sometimes I forget how wild the U.S. actually is…and then I take a short flight and end up in the alps, the Sahara, or French Polynesia—all without ever touching my passport.

these are some of the most mind-blowing landscapes I’ve seen in the U.S. (and I haven’t even seen half of this country 😮‍💨)

📍jagged peaks of the North Cascades that look straight out of the alps.
📍windswept cliffs of the Pacific Coast Highway that feel almost unmistakably Irish.
📍towering Colorado sand dunes that could pass for the Sahara.
📍endless white Bonneville flats that feel Bolivian.
📍turquoise water and lush greens that whisper Tahiti.
📍glacial fjords that rival the Milford Sound.
📍Utah landscapes so alien they don’t feel like earth at all.

share this with someone you’d want to see these beautiful places right here in the U.S. with 😌

taking the trip…that’s the easy interpretation. what I really mean is—do the thing in 2026. yes, THAT thing.

to be honest, I fight with my fear a lot in doing the scary, bold choices I want to make or the dreams I want to chase. because, well, there’s an awful lot to worry about, isn’t there?

what if things go wrong? what if I embarrass myself? what if I disappoint people I care about?

but every time I’ve set that small (sometimes not-so-small) voice aside and followed the thing that makes my heart burst…

I’ve never once regretted it. I’ve never once regretted going after what tugs at my heart and giving it my all, even if it ended in nothing.

because it never really ends in nothing, does it?

every experience, good or bad in the moment, is but another training session—a reminder that we’re more capable than we thought. that we can never live a life of regret if we keep betting on ourselves.

so take this as your reminder to boldly choose yourself in 2026❤️‍🔥 trust me, future you will thank you 🙂‍↕️

I always thought Colorado had just two national parks—Rocky Mountain and Great Sand Dunes. that is, until I started researching my Colorado trip and realized there are FOUR…and this one absolutely blew my mind at first sight.

I can’t even imagine what it would have been like to discover this place for the first time. beautiful 📍Mesa Verde National Park houses thousands of ancestral Puebloan dwellings carved into sandstone walls—a UNESCO World Heritage Site preserving a civilization that thrived in this very area for over 700 years.

📝 here’s what you can’t miss:
📍 Cliff Palace: the largest cliff dwelling in north america.
📍 Balcony House: featuring steep ladders and narrow tunnels
📍 Spruce Tree House: beautifully preserved, visible without a tour
📍 Mesa Top Loop Drive: featuring 12 overlooks + short walks to ancient sites

pro tip: start early—it heats up fast, and the light in the canyons is beautiful before noon. bring water and layers—shade is scarce.

if there’s one thing i’ve learned after exploring california for the last 3 years, it’s that you could spend a lifetime here and still not see it all. from towering mountains to rugged coastlines, hidden redwood groves to surreal deserts—this state really has everything.

if you want a quick shortlist, comment WANDER for my free guide to the best spots in California ☀️👇

whether you’re craving adventure, a cozy escape, or just a change of scenery, here are 19 weekend trip ideas to put on your list this year.

do be aware, I haven’t even covered majority of the state ☺️

📝 pro tips for planning your california weekend trips:

best months to go: winter is perfect for deserts (death valley, solvang), spring brings wildflowers (antelope valley, carrizo plain), and fall has golden alpine lakes (big pine, lassen).

avoid peak crowds: head out early for hikes, visit midweek if possible, and explore shoulder seasons for fewer people.

road trip prep: many of these destinations require long drives—download offline maps, pack snacks, and check road closures (especially in winter!).

which one are you adding to your 2026 list?✌️

if you like mysteries & feeling alive, you’re my kind of person 🧚🏻‍♀️

I loved fairytales growing up—not because they had happy endings (I read the Grimm versions and never understood why people wanted to be princesses), but because there was some sort of mystical magic, a quiet thrill from wandering into the unknown and not knowing what laid ahead in fog-laced forests and behind jagged cliffs.

and I found that feeling in real-life too. places that made me feel giddy enough to try and capture that in a dreamy mishmash of tiny pixels on a screen. hope it makes you feel something too 😌

the places:
📍 Hoh Rainforest, Olympic National Park (first and fourth images)
📍 Point Reyes
📍 Sequoia National Park
📍 Lassen Volcanic National Park
📍 Lake Siskiyou & Mount Shasta
📍 Seceda, Dolomites

and if you love fairytale forests, moody landscapes, and creating a little magic with a camera and some pixels, come hang out ✌️

hi, I’m Tannya (T)✌️we’ve basically doubled in size and I still haven’t done an intro post 🙈

I’m a self taught photographer and drone pilot. I picked up a camera back in 2017, set a goal of exploring a new place every other week (solo or not), and have been shooting ever since. a year ago I leaned in harder to this thing that set my soul on fire and I’m so grateful to have been able to share all my adventures and creative ideas with you all.

so, here are some fun facts you likely don’t know about me hehe:

I used to be a competitive figure skater ⛸️

I run as my commute 2x week but honestly I still dislike running 🙈

it takes me a whole evening to pack for a trip. minimum 3 hours, including time set aside for fretting about forgetting something 🙃

aside from travel and photography, I love m*rder mysteries, puzzles, cozy video games, journalling, and yoga. I secretly dream of making my own charming little game, owning my own escape room, and creating a journal that sparks creativity and curiosity in someone’s life 😌

my favorite emojis are 😌❤️‍🔥😮‍💨😂 (don’t me for the last one)

I hate being late but always try to squeeze in one extra task before I go 🏃🏻‍♀️

I like soup (especially southern Chinese soup), cooked vegetables (esp Napa cabbage), anything tomato-y (yes, including V8 🍅), fruit-forward desserts, ice cream with many bits in it… 🤤 but I don’t like foods that hurt my mouth (sorry tortilla chips)

so tell me, do we have fellow fruit fiends with us? 👀 hehe thank you all for being here, even if you don’t like V8 ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

oh yes, if you stumbled across this and you like photography, travel, and getting all giddy about how freaking beautiful our world is, come hang with me ✌️
