From May 8 to 23, at the Ridotto of the Teatro Verdi di Trieste, La storia della Traviata, a one-act adaptation, will be staged, inaugurating a new narrative direction for the “Opera in One Act” series by opening up to the celebrated nineteenth-century operatic repertoire.
Adapting a beloved masterpiece such as La traviata by Giuseppe Verdi means facing a complex challenge: preserving its dramatic intensity, musical richness, and emotional depth, while at the same time making it accessible to a new audience, particularly young people and those approaching musical theatre for the first time.
This production was created precisely with this goal in mind, offering a streamlined and engaging version that, in about 45 minutes of music, conveys the essence of the opera through its most iconic moments.
