Feeling lucky to have my class! My young scholars are the best! 🍀💕P.S. anyone else still use lightboxes? The inserts from are my favorite!
#ad • My favorite new addition to my classroom is this double-sided whiteboard! I added some washi tape and a label so I can use one side to display my learning objective- which is perfect to hold up so my online students can see too! I also use the other side for magnetic letters during small group instruction and Nearpod codes for guided practice. It’s so versatile! A big thank you to #arcobis for sending it for me to try out. Too tired to dance in the rain but I don’t care! This spring time classroom transformation is off to an awesome start! Check my stories and highlights for details on how I decorated the room. I’ll share the learning activities later this week! 🌦💕
It’s feeling like spring time over here! These functional flower math manipulatives are so useful! I’ll be put these to use for a classroom transformation this week...so stay tuned! For now, swipe to see the magic ✨ 🌸
Whoops! Maybe one day 🙃
Hey fellow teachers and travelers! It’s about time I formally introduced myself (over three years to be exact)! What do we have in common? 👇🏼

1. I started my teaching career abroad. Costa Rica has my heart! 🇨🇷❤️
2. There is nothing cuter than miniature things! Baby shoes get me every time! 🙃💕
3. I’m a huge planner for school but when it comes to vacation, I love unplanned adventures! Hiking in Chile and volcano boarding in Nicaragua were last minute ideas. Those unexpected moments are always the highlight of a trip! ✈️
4. I can’t stand Friends. I just don’t find it funny. 🙈
5. I grew up in a multi-faith household- Jewish and Catholic. 🕍🎄
6. Breakfast/brunch is my favorite meal of the day! 🍳🥯
7. I’m the baby of the family and I have an older brother. I annoyed him to no end as a kid, but we’re really close now! 👧🏻👦🏻
🎨+📚 • This summer I posted about Dr Seuss and why his literature is problematic. The author produced stories that exclude all BIPOC girls/women and show demeaning illustrations of BIPOC boys/men. A short summary of research by is in my highlights for reference. There are so many authors who show our students the respect they deserve as worthy protagonists in literature. If you need help finding alternative books, check out this curated list by! Swipe to see the list and tap to check out her page 💕
Looking to spice up instruction? Teaching chants with motions is one of my FAVORITE way to help students learn basic definitions. I love how it gets kids up and moving! As we study the concept, we discuss the meaning of the explanation in depth. Here’s one from a lesson on main topic! 😊💕
While teaching main topic or main idea, I love using mystery bags! If you’re not familiar with the idea, you put a collection of related objects into a brown bag. For example, I had cookie mix, a spoon and a mixing bowl in a bag. We talked about what was the main topic of all the objects in each bag (i.e. baking cookies). To kick it up a notch, I turned it into a detective themed activity where we “searched for the main topic.” The theme complete with the costume and question marks got the students engaged right away! I mean, who doesn’t love a fake mustache?! If you’d like to see if a video clip of the lesson, let me know in the comments below 👇🏼💕
If you’re in need of a clever and informative bulletin board for Black History Month, check out this resource by! I plan on leaving mine up indefinitely and to continue our study of notable Black Americans in history throughout the year. Remember #blackhistoryisamericanhistory ❤️
