By all means watch and enjoy film ‘adaptations’ but unless you have read the original in its authentic form, you won’t understand how much a movie has stolen artistic license from the author by deviating significantly from its original creation.

‘Wuthering Heights’ is a literary masterpiece by one of the genius Brontë sisters, Emily. One of 6 sisters born on the Moors, their books are soaked with the landscape and culture.
Let us protect the integrity of one of the examples of women’s intellectual property enduring by reading it as intended.
Although it was written almost 200 years ago, it’s remarkably easy to follow and a short read, it’s AMAZING, unforgettable. I mean look at the impact it had on Kate’s Bush. It had a similar impact on my bush. The book is intoxicating. 💃🌳
Of Note in the actual story:
a) Heathcliff is not white
b) There are no erotic restraint devices
Don’t get me wrong I’m no prude it’s just Wuthering Heights is THE absolute pinnacle of Victorian gothic romance. It is not 50 shades 🤦♀️
If you haven’t read the book, do so! That way you can enjoy any film adaptation with the understanding it’s just fandom (or according to the recent movie trailer it looks more like fan-Dom).

Have you had an encounter Sticky Willy AKA Cleavers? It’s a seasonal ritual here in Tasmania to get lashed with it behind your back.
Here’s some fun info to share🌿:
🌿It’s got microscopic plant Velcro all over
🌿Gorillas roll it up and compress it into balls (to break the Velcro)and eat it
🌿It’s edible for us too (cooked) and a good lymph cleanser as a herbal tea
🌿it comes out of nowhere, grows as fast as bamboo, then is dried up and gone!
🌿it makes an excellent Weed Matt in early spring, as it suppresses more serious weeds and is removed is one sweep ( as it all locks together)
🌿it was used to strain milk and cider and other liquids, as it makes an excellent sieve when felted together
Overall this character is great to have fun with, but don’t expect him to stick around.

BLACK SOILS are the most fertile soils on our planet. The proper name for the BEST BLACK SOIL in the world is CHERNOZEM or MOLLISOL.
This ‘Black Gold’ soil is so precious that in Ukraine, when purchase of agricultural land was illegal, there was a black market trade of truck transported soil, worth us$900million a year.
There are two Chernozem belts. Both in the Northern Hemisphere:
a)One spans across Eastern Europe, from Croatia to Siberia. Particularly Ukraine
b)The other spans across the USA(in USA soil taxonomy, Chernozem is called Mollisol).
The Southern Hemisphere does have some high quality Black Earth Soils that are not Chernozem but are still excellent. In Australia where I live, the richest to be found are the Vertisols of the Darling Downs in Queensland. My family settled there from Ireland in the 1850s.I remember gong to my grandfathers family farm as a young girl..There were Sunflowers from horizon to horizon🌻🌻and a lot of red back spiders and feral cats.
Incredibly, there IS one isolated little pocket of true Chernozem in Australia! In the tiny town of Nimmitabel, NSW! Shhh🤫
While Black Soils may be King, there are many other types of quality soil around the world. But FERTILE RED VOLCANIC SOIL has value not simply as a resource. The arterial lava life blood converting to fertile soil to give life is a powerful analogy of the planet as a living thing. These red soils, like our own blood are high in iron. The proper name for these are KRASNOZEM or FERROSOL.These rich soils are found in most Countries in the Southern Hemisphere. In Australia they can be found in Queensland and NSW. Tasmania, where I live has beautiful deep Ferrosol, particularly in the North West. These big potatoes I’m holding are from an organic farm there. Follow for more❤️

1. 🌿Plant in Spring. Dig a Hole bigger than the pot. Soak Hole, plant, soak again
2. 💦Water the first three Summers like your life depends on it. Water as much as your food crops. Soak.
3. 🌿Fertilize appropriately, especially during Spring with both liquid and slow release
Repeat after me…Water, Water, Water💦 just water it and feed it ok. 🙏 you can ease of all this after three years in the ground ❤️
Obviously the soil has to be draining.. you don’t want stagnant flow. Fellow Gardeners please feel free to extrapolate in comments. There is obviously more to growing fruit trees.. like sunlight, disease, pruning etc. This is for beginners and honestly it’s amazing how often the above points just are not done. I’m certainly no expert on fruit trees but I’ve had a lot of success even with my primitive skills, just following the basics above.
Almost all the Fruit tree failures I’ve seen ( including my own) are due to letting the soil around the roots dry out.
This beautiful ‘Smyrna’ Quince was planted 5 years ago. I always thought they took years to get a decent harvest, but with lots of food and water it’s thriving.

The truth is, New Towels are deliberately treated with a water repellent silicone that’s stubbornly glued on. WHY!!!! It’s a towel! Isn’t the entire point of a towel to dry you off 🤣Let’s unpack this and hack this 💪
Manufacturers do this for one reason only… to seduce you with softness in the showroom so you buy them. Who hasn’t wandered the store feeling for the softest one. Next time, notice how that softness also feels a bit slippery? That’s the silicone talking… AND usually, it’s the higher end, more expensive towels that are coated the heaviest. They are prioritizing profits over the very functionality of the product. Surprise surprise 🤣
These adhesives are highly resistant to normal laundry detergents and wont wash off entirely until about 30 or more washes. Until it’s gone you don’t really have a product truly fit for purpose. No one likes going to bed or getting dressed damp.
Luckily you can fast track removing this film…

Soak towel’s in a laundry tub of warm water with a handful of bicarbonate soda OR a cup or two of white vinegar for a few hours. Then simply put through the wash cycle with laundry detergent. I usually just do the soak in the machine. The results speak for themselves ❤️
