DECEMBER was one for the books!

Loved spending so much time with friends & family over the holidays & my birthday 💜 My heart is literally so full. Grateful for so many amazing ppl in my life.

But December wasn’t all fun times. It was also the sickest I’ve ever been- Norovirus hit hard while on a solo trip to Toronto. (See picture 3 🤢🥴) The Fairmont sent someone up to check on me, & (see pic 4) was an absolute ANGEL 😇! Helped care for me when I could barely get off the bathroom floor. Forever grateful for his kindness/support when I was so so sick, alone & scared.

With the sickness & never ending rain, my motivation for running was low. But I kept showing up, and my friends kept showing up with me, in particular. Truly couldn’t have gotten through so many runs/WOs without you 2 💖
Last minute gift idea solved! A donation to would be the purrfect gift for a cat lover on your Christmas list 😺

Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA) rescues & cares for thousands of kittens & cats every year, and couldn’t do it without donations. So please consider gifting a donation to Vokra this holiday season 💜

Gotta jump on this trend!

Never ever listen to anyone telling you to give up on your dreams! 21 national teams, 2 Olympics, 3 Canadian Records, & an income I can call a real job… I would say I proved them wrong:) oh and the most fun & happiness I could imagine doing this running thing ❤️
Nothing glamorous about training this time of the year… most days are rainy and cold here in Vancouver. But track workouts, long runs & fartleks continue and we keep showing up, & we keep putting in the work! It’s these miserable weather day workouts that make us TOUGH!!! “Character building” coach Trent likes to say:)

Some things that can help when it’s POURING RAIN & 5c and under -
1. Find a friend to join you. Keep each other positive!
2. Be prepared! Extra gloves, jacket, hat is key! I leave a plastic bag out with extra jacket/hat/gloves to change into half way through a WO)
3. Adjusting pace. It’s all about effort!!

Investing in a good waterproof jacket is KEY. Put one on your Christmas list? Ps- has great ones 😉

Thank you for the videos, & more importantly for joining me for the WO!! #bettertogether
Southern Utah blew my expectations out of the water. Truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve been- Zion national park is a MUST!

A week at was phenomenal. Accommodations, restaurants, pool, gym, golf, spa were all 10/10. A bike path right out the door that took me to snow canyon- unreal!

Oh and it was sunny & 22c EVERY DAY. Perfection!

Already planning our trip back next year!

4 days in Toronto with for the weekend- was FANTASTIC!

While the entire weekend was amazing, my highlight was cheering people on at 40-41km (you may want to turn the volume down for those videos 😂). Seeing the grit and determination on their faces is so inspiring 👊

My body managed to cooperate enough (osteitis pubis still annoying me gah) and I was able to pace my athlete through 22k around 3;45 pace. She did amazing to finish 6th Canadian (it was our national champs). So proud. Loved being out there with her. Thx for all the cheers TO!

Alan bolt came with me & it was so nice to enjoy some of Torontos amazing restaurants together 🩷

And of course, a trip to Toronto is not complete without seeing my girl! And her new puppy is the cutest!!!

I love our run community 🩷 vibes were so high this weekend & it was truly special to be a part of Toronto waterfront marathon weekend.

Thank you for bringing me out 🩷

The high five photo - 👌
Reflecting on 2 amazing weeks with Team Canada in Japan 🇨🇦🇯🇵

The first week was spent in Gifu at our training camp, where everything was completely taken care of - beautiful hotel, nutritious food, great coaches, and the absolute best IST (massage/chiro/physio) 🙏 It was a great week of final prep, and loved hanging with the team- such an awesome group of athletes 🩷

We moved into Tokyo to the meet hotel (15th largest in the world - 3600 rooms!!) 4 days before my race. Time to lay low & eat all the food! Enjoyed some light exploring with my parents & grabbing matcha with teammates.

I stayed a few days after my race, and LOVED going to the stadium to cheer on Team Canada. The stadium was incredible- such a vibe. Did some sightseeing with friends, and then it was time to come home!

My heart is so FULL. I am truly so grateful to be on Team Canada. The absolute best team.🩷

What an incredible feeling running into the stadium for that final 400m… I had a smile on my face the entire time 😃 I am just so damn grateful i still get to do this… my 21st time representing Canada on the global stage. What a privilege.

Thank you Tokyo- your cheering out there was EVERYTHING.
