Tarun Balani ist einer der herausragenden Künstler, die aus Neu-Delhi, Indien, hervorgegangen sind. Sein aktuelles Album Kadāhin Milandaasin („Wann werden wir uns wiedersehen“) verfolgt die Nachklänge seines sindhischen Erbes durch das Leben und die Schriften seines verstorbenen Großvaters, des postmodernen sindhischen Autors K. S. Balani.
Als Teil einer sindhischen Minderheit geboren, die nach der Teilung des Landes als Flüchtlinge nach Indien kamen, verwandelt Balani persönliche und kollektive Erinnerung in eine zeitgenössische Jazzsprache, die intim, suchend und zutiefst menschlich ist.
Der dänische Bassist und Komponist Kenneth Dahl Knudsen hat mit HEXORA die Zukunft der akustischen Tanzmusik eingeleitet: die schwedische Flötistin Elsa Nilsson, gefeiert für ihren melodischen Fluss und große künstlerische Bandbreite, dazu Toms Rudzinskis, vielleicht der heißeste Saxofonist des Baltikums. Inga Rothammel steuert atmosphärische Klanglandschaften und ausdrucksstarke Improvisationen bei. An der Bassposaune verbindet Maxine Troglauer Jazz und klassische Virtuosität. Hendrik Eichler treibt das Ensemble mit dynamischem Groove, Feingefühl und unerschöpflicher Energie voran. Exzessiv!
